A whole day dedicated to the spooky and scary, it's Halloween here in Weyburn. Children put on their costumes to go to school before hitting the streets and looking for treats or causing tricks. Halloween's origins date back over 2000 years ago to ancient Celtic times when people would wear costumes and make bonfires to ward off ghosts and spirits. Now, the spirit of Halloween keeps that scary theme alive, but with a much different look as kids dress up in their favourite costumes and go door-to-door to try and get a bounty of candy.

Weyburn schools take part in Terry Fox Walk to raise awareness for cancer research

Students at the schools in the city of Weyburn are joining others across Canada in the Terry Fox Walk. This yearly event helps raise money and awareness for cancer research, keeping Terry Fox’s dream of finding a cure alive.

The walk honours Terry’s journey and teaches students about the importance of helping those with cancer.
