Precipitation puts the brakes on stock car races
The Swift Current Stock Car Association has announced that the track is too wet for races this afternoon.
The stock car races were initially supposed to take place yesterday but were cancelled due to the rain.
After the continued rain this morning, it was stated in a Facebook post that, 'the track is a puddle.'
If a makeup date is scheduled, the Swift Current Stock Car Association will announce it in the coming weeks.
Rain halts stock car races
The Swift Current Stock Car Association has postponed today's races due to the rain.
The races have been rescheduled to tomorrow at 12:00 if weather permits.
Annual walk moved indoors
The annual Walk for Alzheimer's in Swift Current this afternoon has been moved indoors due to unfavourable weather conditions.
The event will now take place in the gym of the Swift Current Comprehensive High School.
Registration opens at 12:00 p.m., with the walk starting at 1:00 p.m.

Tick season is here
It’s officially tick season once again and residents in the province are being reminded to take preventative measures.
In Saskatchewan, the most common species of tick is the American dog tick or wood tick, which are typically found in tall grass, brush, or wooded areas and latch onto people and pets.
A splashing time is right around the corner!
Pending the arrival of a new boiler, residents in Gull Lake will soon be able to enjoy splashing and diving outdoors when the Crescent Point Pool opens its doors for the 2023 season on June 1.
Recreational Director for the Town of Gull Lake, Sara Kuntz, said that the staff is eagerly anticipating the upcoming season.

The public is being asked to report information regarding the whereabouts of a 40 year old male, Travis Clay Funk, by the Humbolt/Lanigan RCMP.
Funk is described as being approximately 6'3" and weighing in at 221 pounds with red hair and blue eyes.
The 40 year old man is wanted on numerous charges including resisting arrest, Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000, Use/traffic/possession of a forged document, operating conveyance while prohibited, utter/export counterfeit money, theft under $5000, and breach of conditional sentence order.
Bike Safety Event postponed
Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, this afternoon’s Bike Safety Event has been postponed.
The event was initially scheduled to take place at Riverdene Park from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A new date will be scheduled for the event to take place.

Bike safety cycles through Swift Current
Cycling activities, prizes, food, and safety awareness will all be in abundance this afternoon at the City of Swift Current’s annual Bike Safety Event.
