From the classroom to the spotlight: Linden students take on The Sound of Music ▶️

A classic musical will soon be taking the stage at Linden Christian School.  

Every two years, the school puts on a musical and this year, the performance is The Sound of Music.  

The story follows “A family built on love and music who are facing some of the challenges of the political situation in the 1940s in Austria, and those two elements come together,” says Matt Janzen, the musical's director.  

Sarah Fast portrays Maria, and Grant Lyons plays Captain Von Trapp.

Edna Friesen (nee Wiebe), 78, of Manitou passed away Thursday, April 17th at Boundary Trails Health Centre. She is survived by her husband James, 2 daughters, 1 son, and their families. 
A memorial service for Edna Friesen (nee Wiebe) will be held Saturday, April 26th at 2pm at Morden Alliance Church with burial prior to the service at Manitou Cemetery. 
Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden Friday, April 25th from 7 to 9pm. 

American Idol becomes a stage for worship in powerful Easter Sunday special

The American Idol stage was turned into a place of worship Sunday evening as contestants took part in an Easter Sunday special. 

The three-hour-long, never-before-done Songs of Faith episode featured the top 20 contestants singing only faith-inspired songs. 

Kolbi Jordan, 26, sang a special version of Amazing Grace that left the crowd and judges in awe.

Snoop Dogg returns to gospel roots with upcoming album Altar Call

Hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg is switching things up and taking us to church with a new gospel album, set to be released early next week. 

The rapper and former judge on The Voice announced last week that he is releasing a new gospel album on Death Row Records. 

"It's called Altar Call," said Snoop Dogg in a video he posted on Facebook. "Ya, you heard it first, a gospel album. God is good. Won't he do it?"

Jacob Wiebe, 80, of Winkler formerly of Mexico, passed away Friday, April 18th at Salem Home. He is survived by his wife Aganetha Wiebe (nee Enns), their children Henry (Susanna) Wiebe, Isaak (Anna) Wiebe, Jake Wiebe, Agatha (George) Krahn, Katharina (Isaak) Bergen, Aganetha (Jacob) Krahn, Mary (Peter) Neufeld, as well as 38 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 children in infancy, and 1 grandchild.

Faith, pain, and healing: Katy Nichole gets vulnerable on new album

Platinum-selling, rising Christian music star Katy Nichole is gearing up as she prepares to release her highly anticipated sophomore album. 

The 12-track album, Honest Conversations, includes her latest single "When I Fall," which is already a top 10 and climbing Billboard radio hit. 

This new project, which follows her record-breaking debut album, Jesus Change My Life, was inspired by conversations that Nichole, who has struggled with depression and anxiety,  has had with God.
