WPS seize over $45,000 worth of drugs and ammunition
Three individuals have been charged with drug trafficking in Winnipeg.
The WPS' Guns and Gangs Unit launched an investigation into drug trafficking in the city in May 2025. Three suspects have been identified along with two residences and two vehicles of interest.
On July 11, 2025, investigators and the Tactical Support Team executed search warrants at a residence in the 400 block of Sackville Street and the 200 block of Roseberry Street. Three suspects were taken into custody.
Cybertruck vandalized at Birds Hill Park during Folk Fest
RCMP are searching for a suspect after a Tesla Cybertruck was damaged at Folk Fest on Monday morning.
Shortly before 10 a.m. on July 14, Oakbank RCMP received a complaint after the vehicle was damaged while parked during Folk Fest activities at Birds Hill Provincial Park.
Officers have learned through the investigation that a female had written profanity on the truck using a marker.
Faith, fun, and friendship: A week to remember at Elim Chapel's VBS
Over 35 campers were in attendance at Elim Chapel's Vacation Bible School on Thursday.
The Elim Chapel VBS began on Monday, July 14th, and is ongoing until Friday, July 18th.
"VBS at Elim is for kids from the age of five to twelve," said Joel D'Souza, the Children and Youth Pastor.
This week has consisted of fun activities and engaging Bible lessons for the campers to participate in.
"Kids come here to have fun, learn about Jesus, and build community," continued D'Souza.
Giving back with purpose: Garage sale helps women grow in faith
Winnipeggers will soon be able to pass along unwanted items for a good cause.
The Wave Church is hosting a garage sale this weekend. Barbara Doerksen is on the team and says the money raised is supporting one of the church's ministries. "The money is going towards Women Everywhere, which is a conference that the church has started to empower women and encourage women to get closer to God."

Quack to safety: Heartwarming duckling rescue caught on video
In a heartwarming neighbourhood effort, a Winnipeg family sprang into action after discovering 12 ducklings trapped in a storm drain, successfully reuniting them with their anxious mother.
Chandra Kremski was driving home when she noticed a group of young girls gathered around a storm drain on her street. Realizing something was wrong, she stopped to investigate and discovered several ducklings had fallen into the grate.

John Klassen, 63, of Winkler passed away Wednesday, July 9th at Boundary Trails Health Centre. He is survived by 3 daughters, 1 son, 1 granddaughter, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, his stepmother, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and 1 brother in infancy.
The celebration of life for John Klassen will be held Saturday, July 26th at 2pm at Bethel Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Hochfeld with private family burial prior to the service at Gnadenthal Cemetery.
Goldeyes drop another close one in Sioux Falls
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (25-35) suffered their 15th one-run loss of the season Wednesday evening, falling 3-2 to the Sioux Falls Canaries (35-25) at Sioux Falls Stadium. It was Winnipeg’s sixth consecutive defeat.

Manitoba cabinet minister did not break conflict law, ethics report says
Manitoba's ethics commissioner has ruled Mike Moroz, the minister of innovation and new technology, did not break the province's conflict of interest law.
The Opposition Progressive Conservatives had accused Moroz of being in a conflict by answering questions about a 9-1-1 service outage while owning shares in Telus.
The Tories also accused Moroz of using inside information that criticized the phone company for the outage and selling company stock.
