I Love to Read 2025

Robyn ended the I love to Read Month with Friesens Corporation at Winkler's Parkland Elementary School.

Some are readers, some are athletes, some love cats, and many are gamers at Manitou Elementary School!

We are into the final days of February, and also the last little bit of I Love to Read Month. We’ve been all over the Pembina and Red River Valleys reading to students, including yesterday when CFAM Radio 950's Chris Sumner dropped by Emerson Elementary School for his final reading of the month. I visited Ms. Nikki Curran’s Grade ½ class.

Monday morning I Love To Read month with Friesen's Corporation continued with Country 88 morning show host Ty Hildebrand visiting the grade 2 students at Southwood Elementary School in Schanzenfeld.

First off, what a great book from Friesen's to read to the kids, about finding what they love, and sharing their gift with the world.

The students were very curious about radio, and how it all works. We LOVE reading, and answering all the fun questions.

The I Love To Read month fun continues with Friesen's Corporation and Golden West as Country 88 morning show host Ty Hildebrand visited the grade 2 students of Maple Leaf Elementary School with Friesen's Bookbinder Julie Blatz to read "We Need Everyone" by Michael Champagne Redhead and illustrated by Tiff Bartel.

Not only did we read the book, but every single grade 2 student at Maple Leaf went home with a copy!

Sitting quietly and listening to Robyn Wiebe read "We Need Everyone" by Winnipeg author and activist Michael Redhead-Champagne students reflected on what they are good at and the things they like.

It was a double header at Elm Creek School last week for I love to Read Month.

Grade 2 students were treated to the reading of "We Need Everyone" by Michael Redhead-Champagne from Winnipeg by Friesen's Corporation representative, Andrea!

It was the final stop for CFAM Morning Show co-host Zack Driedger's I Love to Read Month visits, Ecole Elmwood School in Altona!

Once he finished chatting with his wife who teaches Kindergarten at Ecole Elmwood, he rounded up all 60 Grade 2 students from four different classes in the library for some reading! The book he read was "One, Two, Three, Oops!" written by Michael Coleman and Illustrated by Gwyneth Williamson. The book had all 60 of those students howling with laughter, they all thoroughly enjoyed that one.

Rosenfeld Elementary School

The I Love to Read month train kept rolling with Friesen's Corporation and Golden West as CFAM Morning show co-host Zack Driedger visited Rosenfeld Elementary School along with Ryan Hildebrand, Sales Manager from Friesen's Corp. Ryan read the book "We Need Everyone" by Michael Redhead Champagne, illustrated by Tiff Bartel and not only did the kids enjoy hearing Ryan read the book, but every single grade 2 student at Rosenfeld Elementary went home with a copy as well!
