Alliance University, previously known as Nyack College, is shuttering its windows and closing its doors.
On June 26, Alliance University received notice from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education that its accreditation was being withdrawn as of December 31, 2023.
This, along with their current financial situation, led the school to close for good.
Elevation Church withdraws its affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention
Elevation Church has withdrawn itself from the Southern Baptist Convention.
The American megachurch sent a letter to the SBC on Monday, June 26, 2023, saying after two decades they are withdrawing their affiliation with the Convention effective immediately.
"You will find that our Statement of Beliefs on our website is very much in line with the Baptist Faith and Message – we have no intention of changing those core beliefs," said the letter.
The statement goes on to say that they have no plans to make a public announcement on this decision.

A student from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has made it past the auditions on America's Got Talent.
Lachune Boyd, the daughter of a pastor and Master of Music student, sang Coldplay's song, 'Yellow' during her audition.
All four judges were blown away by Boyd's performance. Simon Cowell said it was a fantastic audition.
"You have a beautiful, beautiful voice, and I am fascinated by you," said Cowell.
Howie Mandel responded with similar words.
