Family, congregants, and more will be gathering together to remember and celebrate the life of a well-known Winnipeg pastor, next week.

According to the most-downloaded Bible app, YouVersion, the most shared Bible verse of 2022 around the world shows how people have felt and what is bringing them comfort. 

The app just announced that the most shared Bible verse this year is Isaiah 41:10, which says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

This same verse made the top spot in the app during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

“It is with a heavy heart but with total submission to God that I announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, Minister of God, Sammie Okposo," Punch reports the statement read.

Dignity House is helping women step out of isolation brought on by trauma by providing them with transitional housing and the stepping stones to enter the Christian community.

The Winnipeg organization is a transitional home for women who were trafficked, who have been sexually exploited, recovering from addiction and trauma. It gives them a chance to move forward with their recovery by helping them reintegrate into the community.
