'The Chosen' gets third season after fans raise $2.25 million

A popular Christian series will begin filming its latest season in the spring.

More than 50,000 people have given $2,250,000 to make season three of The Chosen happen.

"This moment represents you bringing your 'loaves and fish.' You and so many others have paid it forward, prayed for us, and spread the word about The Chosen," Director Dallas Jenkins says in an email to supporters.

Crowdfunding success means filming for the free series will begin this spring.

India: 39 incidents of violence against Christians in Karnataka state in 2021

After the recently reported attacks against Christians in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, a fact-finding team from the Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) released a report with a list of 39 incidents of violence or threats against the Christian community since January 2021.

The Religious Liberty Commission of EFI visited 8 towns and cities of the region, to meet over 50 pastors and Christian leaders, including many who have experienced harassment in the recent past.

Details have emerged on how missionaries being held captive in Haiti made a daring nighttime escape and are now home in time for Christmas.

There were 12 missionaries remaining in captivity after 17 were kidnapped after visiting an orphanage. Five of the missionaries had already been released, when the remaining ones decided to make a daring escape.
