The war in Ukraine has caused a dramatic surge in the number of “social orphans,” according to a mission organization responding to an escalating crisis of child abandonment.

Ukrainian church leaders estimate there are as many as 50,000 “hidden” social orphans, children barely surviving under the radar who’ve been abandoned or severely neglected by their parents due to the ravages of war and fueled by addictions.

Franni Rae Cash Cain says in a social media post "God has been prompting a change of seasons in my heart, and I will be honoring that."

Natalie Grant's latest single is not only a cover of a beloved gospel song but also features one of the genre's most well-known singers.

Grant released her version of "My Tribute (To God Be The Glory" last week, with CeCe Winans joining her on the track.

Pandemic-era public health charges have been dropped against an Edmonton-area pastor and church, as well as a central Alberta man who hosted a rodeo in protest of COVID-19 restrictions.

GraceLife Church pastor James Coates had been cited for violating public health orders by holding church services without following the gathering limits imposed by the provincial government. 

Pastor's conviction highlights Uganda's growing problem involving ritual sacrifice

A Ugandan pastor who killed a 4-year-old child in a ritual murder in a twisted effort to grow his church’s fortunes has been sentenced to life imprisonment after pleading guilty to murder charges.

Joseph Sserubiri, 30, of Deliverance and Healing Ministry in Kakira Town Council, located in the country’s Jinja District, was convicted of murder and human trafficking following his plea on Aug. 1 before Judge Winfred Nabisinde.

Sserubiri was also sentenced to 30 years in prison for human trafficking and is expected to serve the two sentences concurrently.

Mohawk-language Bible published after decades-long effort by one Quebec man

Harvey Satewas Gabriel still remembers the first time he heard a preacher read Bible passages in the Mohawk language back in the 1950s. He watched the United Church minister open the book and translate the Scripture into Mohawk straight off the page as he read, the words sounding like “honey” to the then-17-year-old from Kanesatake, Que.

Gabriel went home and asked his mother why there was no Mohawk Bible. She said, "That’s a big project, who’s going to translate that?" he recalls.

Christian blood flows freely and frequently in the DRC

Terror plagues a majority-Christian nation in central Africa, and it goes by a three-letter name: ADF. The Allied Defense Forces (ADF) claimed 55 deaths in the first two weeks of August, killing 19 people in a single attack.

Based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the jihadists frequently target Christians in the eastern region. ADF terrorists killed 72 believers during two weeks in March and 80 Christians over 10 days in April.

Canadian Christian artist Emily Ruth is preparing to launch a new single by being open and vulnerable about the inspiration behind the song.

"In The Waiting" is set for release to all streaming platforms on September 15, 2023. Ruth says that she actually wrote the chorus for the song in 2019 before the pandemic.
