Eatonia’s newest race is nuts, bolts, and a whole lot of fun
Eatonia Heritage Park will host Valve Cover Racing during their Show & Shine on June 21st from 10 AM to 4 PM. This new event will feature small cars that are made from the valve covers of real cars, with 4 wheels racing down an inclined track. Racers are encouraged to build their cars, however, a limited number of pre-built cars will be supplied at the event.
Students rock the gym in Luseland's 2025 Jam Night
The 2024/2025 school year at Luseland has brought the first year of the 10-12 grade music class. The class is taught by Mr. Williamson, the high school's science teacher with a passion for music. The class focuses mainly on guitar and bass, with a few other instruments as well.
Previously, music classes in high school were only available from grades 7-9, but at the end of last school year, the school opened the possibility of having a senior high school music class if enough students enrolled, which far surpassed the minimum requirement.
Saskatchewan delivers new affordability measures in 2025-26 provincial budget
Saskatchewan’s latest provincial budget includes sweeping tax relief and affordability measures, aimed at making the province the most cost-effective place in Canada to live and work, according to the government.
The 2025-26 budget, tabled in March, includes more than $250 million in new tax savings this year and ongoing affordability initiatives that total over $2 billion annually.
Saskatchewan leads country in organ, tissue donation
Saskatchewan has taken the national lead in deceased organ donation, according to new data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information.
The province recorded 28.9 deceased organ donors per million population in 2023 — the highest rate in the country — representing a 75 per cent increase over the previous year. In 2014, Saskatchewan’s rate was just 7.2 donors per million.
Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill called the achievement a “remarkable milestone” and credited increased public awareness and participation in organ and tissue donation efforts.

March is recognized as Pharmacy Appreciation Month
March has been declared by the Government of Saskatchewan to be recognized as Pharmacy Appreciation month. Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill explained the decision as an opportunity to recognize the important work done by pharmacists and described them as highly trained professionals.
