The evening before the Miami Fair and Rodeo, three 4-H clubs from the area met at the fairgrounds for an interclub judging competition. Hosted by the Miami 4-H club, the event offered an opportunity for kids and teens in 4-H to get a feel for livestock judging, something that is key to 4-H livestock projects.

Lake Minnewasta hosted its annual Swim Smart event on Thursday, an event which gave lifeguarding staff at the lake the opportunity to teach the community about safe swimming practices but also have fun while doing so.

Rain or shine, the Thousand Oaks Gospel Camp served up faith-based fellowship and delicious food over the weekend to folks from all over North America. Featuring musical performers from as far as La Crete, Alberta, along with groups from the Pembina Valley, Sunday’s rain didn’t damper anyone’s spirits.
Living history at the Pembina Valley Rendezvous
The Pembina Valley Rendezvous kicked off last Saturday, June 21st. Hosted at the Darlingford curling arena, festival goers were treated to events and programming that reflected life during Canada’s fur trade from the 17th century to early 19th century.

Bouncy castles and a hot dog lunch were among the highlights of this year’s PAC Carnival & BBQ at Maple Leaf Elementary School. Organized by the school’s Parent Advisory Council, the BBQ served as an opportunity for parents to celebrate the school year with their children.
Full speed ahead: Grad parade honours 2025 high school graduates
Graduates from Garden Valley Collegiate and Northlands Parkway Collegiate were honoured last Wednesday with a grad parade in Winkler. A tradition since 2020, turnout from the community was excellent to support this year’s grads.
The parade offered an opportunity for grads to put their creativity on show, and Yaroslav Yagudin and his friends certainly did so. They customized “a Batmobile with a pool": a convertible with a pool in the back seats, where they sat during the parade.
