Larry R. Reimer, 76, of Steinbach passed away Monday, May 12th at his residence. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, 2 sons, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and their families. He was predeceased by 1 brother.
The celebration of life for Larry R. Reimer will be held Friday, May 16th at 2pm at Crossings Funeral Care, Steinbach with private family interment at Blumenort EMC Cemetery.
Viewing will be at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Donations may be made to Steinbach Bible College.

Marlene Elizabeth Neustaedter nee Unruh, 86, of Winnipeg formerly of Steinbach, passed away Friday, May 9th at Winnipeg. She is survived by 1 son and his family. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, 1 daughter and her parents Cornelius and Elizabeth Unruh.
The funeral service for Marlene Elizabeth Neustaedter nee Unruh will be held Friday, May 16th at 11am at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue.
Fire ban implemented in Winkler, Ward 1 of R.M. of Stanley
A fire ban, including fire pits, has been put into place within the City of Winkler and Ward 1 of the R.M. of Stanley. The Winkler Fire Department shared the update late Tuesday afternoon via its social media page.
This Fire Ban means no fires, no fireworks, no pellet stoves and no firepits. Use of barbecues and fire tables fueled by propane or natural gas is still permitted, because they do not emit sparks or embers.
Very hot Tuesday marked third consecutive record setting day
More daytime high records were set Tuesday during the final day of the unusual heat wave which has baked Southern Manitoba since Sunday.
"With Environment Canada ending the Heat Warnings for the region, yesterday's record setters mark an end to three consecutive days of extremely hot, dry and windy conditions," noted CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "When we look back on this stretch of three days, it will be historical for not only just how warm it was, but also the fact it stayed that warm for that long this early in the season."
Canadian youth struggle with making friends and bullying: UNICEF report
A global study from UNICEF suggests many Canadian kids are unhappy, with social struggles such as bullying and difficulty making friends among the sources of their anguish.
UNICEF’s 19th Report Card suggests one in five youth in Canada face frequent bullying, one in five are lonely and one in four struggle to make friends.
It blames bullying in particular for a drop in life satisfaction reported by 15-year-olds, down three percentage points to 76 per cent since 2018.
Prime Minister Mark Carney says new cabinet will act with 'urgency and determination'
Prime Minister Mark Carney shook up his cabinet Tuesday by moving some key players involved in Canada-U.S. relations into new positions and promoting 24 new faces in a move meant to signal change at the top.
While some were prominent figures in former prime minister Justin Trudeau's government — including Dominic LeBlanc, Mélanie Joly, Chrystia Freeland and François-Philippe Champagne — Carney froze out other prominent members of his predecessor's team.
Carney named 28 full ministers to his cabinet, which will meet for the first time on Wednesday.
Altona Council begins climate adaptation planning
The Town of Altona is embarking on a project it says will further push it towards climate resiliency.
Council will use a $15,000 grant, under the province's Climate Action Plan, to create a climate risk assessment and adaptation plan for the community.
The work will be divided in two phases.
Phase 1, explained Mayor Harv Schroeder, is the assessment. It will establish context, identify risks, assess, compare and rank those risks and then identify risk mitigation and adaptation measures
Two suspended, 11 speeders fined in Morden Police weekly report
Two motorists were temporarily pulled off the road by Morden police officers this past week after they blew warnings on the Roadside Screening Device.
The first fell subject to the test after police spotted an open beer can next to the driver, in their cup holder, during a traffic stop.
The second provided a sample after officers smelled liquor coming from their breath, also during a traffic stop.
Each driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension, their vehicles impounded for 3 days and fined $400.

U14 Eagles excited to hit the pitch running
After a lot of hard work, the U14 Morden Eagles are ready to take off and keep fostering the love of soccer in young athletes.
Eagles assistant coach Jen Martens is looking forward to being back outside on the field although it depends on Mother Natures mood. "I like the space to run," she says with a chuckle. "But, dealing with the wind and weather is never as fun when you're used to being inside. It's good to get outside, though."
