As a part of I Love to Read month, Eagle 93.5 FM Morning Show host Jayme Giesbrecht visited Plum Coulee Elementary School, where the grade 2 students had a blast reading a weather forecast to be broadcast on-air. Joining the fun was Pamela Hiebert from Friesens Corporation, who read We Need Everyone by Michael Redhead Champagne, illustrated by Tiff Bartel. Not only did the kids love the story, but every Grade 2 student at Plum Coulee Elementary got to take home their very own copy!

Winkler Arts and Culture hosts first-ever trivia night

Winkler Arts and Culture (WAC) is inviting trivia enthusiasts to test their knowledge at the first-ever Trivia Night Fundraiser, happening Friday February 21st at 7:00 PM at their gallery space, located at 547 Park St., Winkler.

Baked with love: The secret to Hilda Gerbrandt’s delicious buns

Stepping into the studio with the warmth of freshly baked buns in hand, Hilda Gerbrandt is no stranger to sharing good food and great stories. Gerbrandt first delighted us with her homemade Sloppy Joes back in January. Now, she's returned with a basket of warm, soft whole wheat buns, a recipe adapted from her sister-in-law, Linda Gerbrandt.

"I tasted Linda’s buns once, and I just thought they were so good," Gerbrandt shares. "Since then, I’ve adapted the recipe to be a little healthier by adding whole wheat flour, but you can still make them with just white flour if you prefer."
