Much needed rain soaks Southern Manitoba Sunday
It was a soggy Sunday in many parts of southern Manitoba.
A low-pressure system dumped a lot of rain in thunderstorms on Sunday. Manitoba Agriculture is reporting the following rain amounts (25.4 millimetres = 1 inch):

Leona Nickel nee Hildebrand, 80, of Altona formerly of Rosenfeld, passed away Friday, June 20th at her residence. She is survived by 2 sons, 1 brother, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Grant.
A private funeral service for Leona Nickel nee Hildebrand will be held with burial at Weidenfeld Cemetery.

George Schapansky, age 89 years, of Altona formerly of Plum Coulee, MB passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre.
He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Dueck), their children Theresa (Garry) Miller, Gerald Schapansky, and Debra (Brian) Hurd, as well as 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. He was predeceased by his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
A private funeral service will be held with ash interment at the Plum Coulee Cemetery.
