The energy was high, the teamwork strong, and the community spirit even stronger as 31 teams dashed through Steinbach Wednesday evening, taking part in “Brewed to Win the Amazing Race Steinbach,” a fun-filled two-hour race raising funds for Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

Artists from a wide variety of mediums descend on the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity to gain new skills in their chosen field. Those skills extend far beyond the spotlight to the backstage roles, including lighting, sound, and, in the case of Steinbach's Lauren Peters, wardrobe. 

We're having a party this weekend on Made in Manitoba, with yet another debut. This time around its the six piece Winnipeg based country music group The Sean Taylor Band. Featuring Greg Dunstan on bass, James Klassen on keys, Sean Taylor Johnston on acoustic guitar and vocals, Juno award winner Jeff Kula on drums, Sean Borton on guitar, and Blaine Badiuk on fiddle and mandolin.

The La Broquerie Farm and Community Market is growing, and that means a new home for its third season. 

The market, which begins its 2025 run this Saturday, July 12, has outgrown its original spot outside the La Broquerie Hotel and is moving to the newly paved outdoor rink beside the HyLife Arena. 

It's been 10 years since Thelma Krull left her Winnipeg home for a morning walk and never returned—her remains later found in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Taché.

On the anniversary of her disappearance, the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is once again asking for the public’s help to solve the case, which remains open despite extensive investigation and national attention.

Evacuees from northern Manitoba continued to pour into Winnipeg Friday as a renewed round of wildfires threatened communities and shrouded much of the province in smoke.

"It's been rough," Misty Harper said, as she and her partner walked outside of a large indoor soccer complex set up to house evacuees, along with her one-year-old daughter in a stroller. 

Some people sat at picnic tables under small canopies or on grass in an adjacent field. Buses filled with more evacuees arrived a few times each hour.

The Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet is still recovering from one of the most destructive wildfires in its history, a fire that Reeve Loren Schinkel says has left lasting scars on the land and in the hearts of the community. 

Schinkel spoke on Thursday about the months-long fight against the blaze, which has already consumed thousands of acres, taken two lives, and destroyed dozens of properties.

Intense thunderstorms rolled through Southern Manitoba Thursday night. 

Rose Carlsen is a meteorologist with Environment Canada. She says our hot and humid day resulted in some unstable conditions in the environment. 

The mercury Friday afternoon climbed above 30 degrees in many parts, but with the high humidity, the humidex was close to 40.

"Then we had a cold front sweeping through in the afternoon and evening, sparking off a bunch of thunderstorms as it moved through," says Carlsen.

One person is dead after a possible drowning Thursday on Caddy Lake.

At 1:22 pm, Falcon Lake RCMP received a report of a drowning. RCMP, the Whiteshell Fire Department, and emergency medical services responded immediately. 

It was reported that two men had entered the water, but only one resurfaced.

The Whiteshell Fire Department located the missing male under water. The 23-year-old from Winnipeg was pronounced dead on scene.
