Rob- The city landfill, the other big issue over the course of the past few weeks. The plan was in place, and we were set to build north of Moose Jaw in the RM of Moose Jaw, but the RM rejected the application. So essentially, we’re back to the drawing board?
Maryse- Not fully, because all the work that the team did in the last year, the consultation we did again, in that process, a lot of listening, a lot of communication back and forth between the RM and us, between the residents and us.
Take 5 - Souls Harbor Rescue Mission
Rob- Let’s start with the big issue right now, the big event in town, everybody’s talking about it. The Souls Harbor Rescue Mission, the owners and operators of the Riverside Mission, a public meeting about homelessness, addictions and future shelters will be taking place in the coming weeks.

Flying Fins rake in medals at ManSask Championship
The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins brought home 19 medals during the 2024 Summer ManSask Championship last weekend.
The Flying Fins also came home with the Top Overall Small Club award and the Top Sask Small Club Award.
Leo brought home seven gold medals and was named the Philip Clark Award winner for the best para male performance.
Sports Round-Up: Friday, July 12
Brayden Mayencourt's 2-run homer in the top of the 1st inning got them started and the Weyburn Beavers went on to defeat the Moose Jaw Miller Express at Ross Wells Park last night. Nathan Houston hit a solo shot for the home team.
The Millers will be in Medicine Hat this weekend, with games tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday against the Mavericks. The Millers' next home game is Tuesday against the Regina Red Sox, who defeated Swift Current 15-7 last night.
Funeral expenses fundraiser planned after family suffers sudden loss
Lenn and Dena Morin lost their youngest son Tyler about two weeks ago after an unexpected medical issue. Now, friend of the family Jacki L’Heureux-Mason hopes the community will rally to help the family as their grieve.
L’Heureux-Mason is executive director of Tourism Moose Jaw and has organized the Sidewalk Days festival since 2012 — a task she said might not have been possible without Lenn Morin.
CUPE to hold community BBQ in Moose Jaw on July 13
CUPE Saskatchewan’s summer BBQ circuit will be stopping in Moose Jaw for a free community lunch and some afternoon activities on July 13 at Elgin Park. Organized to celebrate the hard work of the region’s public employees, the event is open to all members of the public and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Sports Round-Up: Thursday, July 11
The Regina Red Sox came from behind and beat the Moose Jaw Miller Express 6-3 in Western Canadian Baseball League action last night. The Millers are at home tonight, playing the Weyburn Beavers at Ross Wells. The Beavers are 8-27 this season, sitting in last place in the East Division.
In Rambler Park Fastball tonight, the Moose Jaw Giants and the Moose Jaw Canadians are both at Rambler Park. The Giants play Standing Buffalo at 6:45, and it’s the Canadians against the Renegades starting at 8:45.
Sports Round-Up: Wednesday, July 10
The Moose Jaw Miller Express can pull to within a game-and-a-half of the first place Red Sox if they beat them in Regina tonight. The Millers are 20-14 on the season and have won 8 of their last 10 games. The Millers return to Ross Wells Park on Thursday, when they’ll be up against the visiting Weyburn Beavers.
Rambler Park Fastball last night saw the Moose Jaw Giants fall 7-1 to the Hawks and in the nightcap, the Moose Jaw Canadians defeated the Hawks 3-2. Dustin Theil's two-run homer in the 6th inning was the difference. Blake Dixon was the winning pitcher.

The Moose Jaw Miller Express are enjoying a break in their Western Canadian Baseball League schedule to start the week. They'll play the first place Red Sox in Regina tomorrow.
Rambler Park Fastball tonight at Memorial Field will see the Moose Jaw Giants and the Moose Jaw Canadians face the Hawks. The Giants start at 7 p.m., with the Canadians to follow at 9 p.m. The Giants are currently 8-3 on the season, the Canadians have a 7-3 record, and the Hawks are 7-1.
One suspect arrested; two fled following weekend break-and-enter
A break-and-enter incident at a business in the early hours of Saturday morning has led to charges for a male youth, with two others yet to be apprehended.
A patrol officer witnessed the break-and-enter as it was happening on the 400 block of Lillooet Street West at 1:45 a.m. on July 6.
