New Highway Hotline cameras provide better condition

Six new cameras are running or being installed throughout the province to give motorists and the provincial Highway Hotline a real-time view of conditions.

The six new cameras, bring the total number of static cameras deployed across the province to 50, according to a release from the Ministry of Highways.  

"Our government continues to enhance the Highway Hotline's service to ensure motorists have more ways to plan their journey and make an informed decision," Highways Minister Lori Carr said. 

Assiniboia man gets time served over domestic dispute

A 31-year-old Assiniboia man received time served at Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a domestic dispute. 

Travis Nelson pleaded guilty to one count of assault, two counts of breaching an undertaking and one count of breaching a release order as part of a joint submission between the Crown and the defence. 

Man accused of attempted murder dismisses lawyer

A man accused of attempted murder appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday as there was a change to who would be representing him. 

Kyle Peeace appeared before Judge Daryl Rayner via video from remand, while lawyer Doug Andrews appeared via telephone. Kyle was charged with attempted murder following an alleged machete attack in downtown Moose Jaw on Sept. 28.

Find A Safe Ride returning this New Year's Eve

The City of Moose Jaw is once again partnering with SGI to provide transportation so you can Find A Safe Ride home from your New Year’s celebrations.

This year marks the 34th edition of the program which offers the opportunity to ride the bus for free.

Moose Jaw Transit fixed route service will be in effect from 7:55 p.m. New Year’s Eve (December 31) through 3:15 a.m. New Year’s Day (January 1) with pickups every 40 minutes. You can view the route map and the bus stop schedule at MooseJaw.ca/Transit.
