The Moose Jaw Police Service and Moose Jaw Crime Stoppers are requesting the public's help in identifying a suspect in a month-old assault case. 

On June 19 around 2:30 a.m., MJPS was called to an assault with a weapon at an establishment on Manitoba Street. 

When officers arrived, a man was found with injuries. Police determined that the victim was attempting to break up a fight when he was struck with a hatchet by an unknown suspect. 

The Friends of the Forces Fellowship Highway to Heroes Car Show will still take place on Saturday at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds, but precautions are being taken due to the extreme heat expected in Moose Jaw. 

Roy LaBuick, chairman of the car show and president of the Friends of the Forces Fellowship, says car show exhibitors and visitors will have full access to air-conditioned buildings on the exhibition grounds.

A man from Balgonie Sask. was arrested following an investigation that led to over 2,000 grams of fentanyl being seized.

On, July 8, the Regina Police Service Drug Unit, the Street Crimes Unit, and the K9 unit completed an investigation concerning drug trafficking in the area. 

A search warrant was executed on a residence in Balgonie, and as a result of the enforcement, 39-year-old Mathew James McDonald of Balgonie was arrested and charged.

A Winnipeg man is recovering from injuries he sustained after attempting to search an apartment building that was on fire on Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 0 to 100 block of Renfrew Street for a fire in a two-storey building just after 10 a.m.

When crews arrived at the scene, they encountered smoke coming from the structure. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 10:51 a.m., the City of Winnipeg says in a release.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department has contained a grass fire at CP Rail.

A grass fire broke out on the south side of the CP Rail yard on Saturday evening. 

Fire crews have contained the fire, but the cause is still unknown.

A man was left with non-life-threatening injuries following a stabbing on the zero block of Manitoba Street East on Friday night.

The Moose Jaw Police Service was called to the scene at around 10:20 p.m. and the victim was transported to the hospital.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. Police have not released the name of the suspect.

The man will be making his first court appearance on Monday morning.

Areas of southern Saskatchewan, including the City of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area are under a severe thunderstorm watch.

Former Moose Jaw Warrior Tate Popple is used to scoring goals, not scoring hole-in-ones.

Yet on Friday, Popple hit a hole-in-one at the Hillcrest Golf Club.

Popple hit the hole-in-one on the par-4 eighth hole. He used his driver from 297 yards out.

The Sask. RCMP has cancelled the Dangerous Person Alert issued in Langham, SK. The take shelter notice has been cancelled as well. 

Police believe there is no further risk to public safety.

The RCMP is still asking the public to continue to report tips and information to the police, as the investigation is ongoing.

One person is confirmed dead after RCMP responded to a report of a shooting incident in Langham early Friday morning.
