It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Emmel, age 72 years on October 7, 2024.

As per James’ request there will not be a formal service. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

The Estevan Speedway was very near and dear to James’ heart so in memory of James, memorial donations may be made to the Estevan Auto Racing Association 2000 INC., Box 1543, Estevan, SK, S4A 2L7.

Honig, Sophie Drefko Ostafichuk

Sophie Drefko Ostafichuk Honig was born July 25th, 1924 at Lake Alma, Saskatchewan and her journey of life ended October 2, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta. Prayers for Sophie will be said on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, Saskatchewan and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Father Valentine Amobi presiding at both.

Lorna Irene Obst, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on October 9, 2024 at the age of 95 years. Valerie Driedger, 61, of Elm Creek passed away Wednesday, October 9th at Health Sciences Centre. She is survived by her husband Peter and her mother Rose Dyck. She was predeceased by her father David A. Dyck. 
The funeral service for Valerie Driedger will be held Monday, October 14th at 2pm at Crossway Elm Creek with burial prior to the service at 1pm at Wingham Cemetery.

Margaret Margo Wiebe nee Giesbrecht, 86, of Altona formerly of Gretna, passed away Wednesday, October 9th at Altona Memorial Health Centre. She is survived by 2 daughters, 3 sons, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband John, 1 daughter-in-law, and 1 sister. 

Joan Ann Schnell

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Joan Ann Schnell on October 9, 2024, at the age 97. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband Adam; son Jack; daughter Patricia; grandson Jesse and all her siblings. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Judy; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 1:00PM at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate.

Sharon Lee Ann Hall

Sharon Lee Ann Hall (née: Seabrook) aged 64 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024.  Sharon was born in Carrot River, SK on October 1st, 1959.  She worked at Valley View Centre where she was pleased to have a happy work environment with her co-workers and formed special friendships with the residents.
