Kenneth Evan Boak

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth “Ken” Boak, loving husband, father, son and brother. Ken passed away at his home in Edwin on August 28, 2023 at the age of 66 years.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol "Gayle" Armishaw on Monday, August 28th, 2023 at the age of 83 years. 

Gayle was born on July 6th, 1940, in Antler, Saskatchewan. She was 1 of 10 children born to James and Elena Davis: She spent her early years in a town close by named Tilson, In 1948, the family moved to Melita and then again to Portage la Prairie in 1954.

Louis A. Lasson

Peacefully, Louis Lasson passed away on August 10, 2023 at Portage General Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Left to mourn are his son Tim (Carol) Lasson, of Winnipeg, his daughter Deb (Mark) Winslow, of Portage la Prairie, grandson, Scott Winslow and family. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He was predeceased by his wife Iona, and parents Margaret and Louis Lasson Sr.

A private family interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Columbarium.

On July 22, 2023, Robert “Bob” Nadon passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 68 years.

Kurt Douglas

With sadness we announce the passing of Kurt Douglas on June 13, 2023, at the age of 62 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Geneviève Doré of Portage la Prairie, in-laws Denise Chammartin and Nestor Bodnarchuk of Winnipeg, best friend Terry Zablotsky of Montreal, Quebec, great friend Lori McFarland of Portage la Prairie.

Bernard Frederick Blaine

Peacefully, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Portage District General Hospital, Bernard Blaine passed away at the age of 86 with his daughter Sharon by his side, along with very special friend Edith Berard and his homecare worker Kathryn Woodward.

Bernard was born on July 13, 1936, in Austin, MB, the youngest of four children born to Albert and Mabel (Asplund) Blaine.

Peacefully at the Portage District General Hospital, Shirley Verwey passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the age of 79 years.
