Leonard Lepine of Portage la Prairie passed away on January 13, 2024 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 79 years. 

Prayers and a time of viewing and visitation will take place on January 17, 2024 6:00 PM at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.

Grace Darlene Chermishnok-Cohen
November 10, 1942 - December 28, 2024

Peacefully at home with her daughter Valanne and grandson Tyson by her side Darlene went to greet her loved one’s on other side on December 28, 2023 at the age of 81 years.

Darlene was predeceased by her husband Gordon, sister Hazel (Ernest) Wenham, Mac (Lil) Bird, Bert (Fern) Bird, Everett (Lyla) Bird. She left behind the greatest people in her life, her son Vince (Jim) Chermishnok, daughter Valanne Chermishnok,

Trevor Harris

Peacefully on December 26, 2023, Trevor Harris passed away at his home with family by his side at the age of 44 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Joan and Randy Warren, sister Amber (Xander), grandma Martha Harris, grandpa Gordon Warren and his Mr. Baby Cat “Kitty”, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Garrison “Garry” Maxwell Moar

With sadness we announce that Garry Moar passed away suddenly on December 4th, 2023 at his home at the age of 74 years.

Gladys Anne Phyllis Demman (nee Owens)


On December 12, 2023, with her sons by her side, Gladys Demman passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years. Glady was born in Portage la Prairie, MB on May 6, 1939 to Bertha and Stan Owens and was raised in High Bluff, MB with her five brothers.

Anne Tarr (Morhart) peacefully passed away on December 11, 2023, at the Portage
General Hospital in Portage la Prairie, MB.

Anne was born in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan on June 5, 1940. She was the second youngest of nine children born to Frank and Anne Morhart. Anne received her schooling in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan, then left to pursue her nursing degree in Portage where she graduated in 1962. Anne enjoyed a long career as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse at the Manitoba Developmental Center until she retired after 33 years of dedicated service. 

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jim Murray on December 8, 2023, at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 67 years.

Pat Ducharme

Peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2023, Pat Ducharme passed away at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 83 years.

William Frederick “Fred” Rutledge

With sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Rutledge on November 29, 2023 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 80 years.

Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his wife Sharon of Portage la Prairie, MB, daughter Terri (Darren), siblings Ralph (Ruth) Rutledge, Margaret (Jim) Pragnell and Allen (Suzanne) Rutledge, as well as numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
