Ethel Alexina Esson

On January 29, Ethel Esson peacefully passed away at Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 98 years.

Ethel was born on June 26, 1925, daughter of Alexina & David Tetlock at Maidstone, SK, where she was raised and received her education. After completing her schooling, she attended Teachers College in Saskatoon. She then taught at various times and places through the years.

Dorothy May Louise Weselake

Melvin Robert Wood passed away on December 30,2023 at the age of 71 years.

Melvin was born in Wawota, Saskatchewan on February 9, 1952 to Ed and Tina Wood (nee Thiessen).

Melvin leaves to mourn his passing his children Brandy (Dave) and Reinhold (Ashley) along with his grandchildren; Joshua, Benjamin, Abel, Alexandria and Tasha and one great grandson Linkin or as Dad called him Cadillac.

Margaret "Jean" Burch

The family of Jean Burch announces her passing, at the age of 100 years, on December 30, 2023, beloved wife of the late Murray Burch.   

Jean was born on December 10, 1923.  Predeceased by husband Murray Burch, grandson David Burch and sisters Isabel Ziegler and Norma Ziegler. Jean & Murray were married for 71 years, until Murray’s death on June 3rd, 2019.

Left to cherish memories are her children; Reg (Marion), Dale (Linda), Dennis (Judy), Carl (Lois), Keith (Barb), Melody (Doug), Roger (Connie), and Vaughn (Rhonda). 

Donald Richard St. Goddard

Peacefully, John (Jack) McWhirter, passed away on October 26, 2023. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Mary, his father Burton, mother Jessie, and sister Muriel. Left to mourn are his children; Wayne (Dana), Sharon Bonar (Dan), Bruce (Anh) and Brian. His grandchildren; Ashley (Matt), Andrew (Asli), Ainsley (Mike), Ryan, Kyla (Jared), Brittany (Gary), Kallem (Rebecca), Hung (Vadsana), and Cuong. His great grandchildren; Angel, Logan, Lincoln, Mia, Wells, Abigail, Isaac and Charlotte. Step-brothers; Gary and Kenny and their sister Linda, along with many nephews and nieces.

Violet Esther Soltys

August 15, 1925 – October 17, 2023

Violet Soltys, beloved wife of the late Joseph Soltys, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023 at her residence, Douglas Campbell Lodge, Portage la Prairie, at the age of 98 years.  Devoted mother of Darla, Elaine and Noreen.  

Violet's family has chosen to celebrate her life privately.

     After a long battle with M.S. and with family by her side, Debbie Elaine Guinn succumbed to her illness.   

     Debbie was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on January 29, 1957 to Jack and Joan Collins. They moved to Brandon a short time after. There, she grew up with siblings Linda, Janice and David, and family dog Ginger on 12 Whillier Drive.
