An Arbitrator

Job 9:1-35

“God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial.

If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together.

The mediator could make God stop beating me, and I would no longer live in terror of his punishment.

Then I could speak to him without fear, but I cannot do that in my own strength." (Job 9:32–35)

Good and Bad Advice

Job 3:1-26

Every person reading this chapter has been the recipient of bad advice. You listened as someone gave it to you. You followed the counsel you received and then suffered the consequences. We have all benefited from someone's good advice too. We were unsure and confused, so we reached out to somebody we trusted. We received good counsel, followed the advice, and enjoyed the benefits.

Once they arrived, they found a deceased adult male who the RCMP report as looking like he fell while climbing the Aemmer Coulier.

Now I Know

Job 3:1–26

There are times when others' words only make our troubles worse. That may seem too elementary to mention, so why would I? Well, have you learned it? Are you still listening to everybody? If so, it's small wonder that you're confused.

There are times when God's ways only make us more confused. There, I've said it. I've been wanting to say that all through this chapter, and I finally worked up the courage. My point? Don't expect to understand everything that happens when it occurs.

Verse of the day: January 27

Ephesians 6:12-13

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

Alberta's " CrossRoads" event opens Monday

The event formerly known as FarmTech is a collaboration of the Alberta Canola, Alberta Grains, and Alberta Pulse Commissions.

Committee Chair Todd Hames says this year's event focuses on "New Ideas and Directions" with presentations on innovation and sustainability, agriculture policy and farm management.

"We're trying to create that environment to have speakers, that encourage conversation and ideas. Then have opportunities during the program to network and share those ideas and thoughts and have the discussion."

Over 7,000 reservations and counting in Alberta's National Parks

With Parks Canada having launched its reservations for the 2024 visitor season, the first day of reservations opening for sites in Alberta, saw 7,453 reservations.

"As sites like Banff and Jasper open for reservation over the coming days, it is expected this number will increase," Megan Hope, with Parks Canada Media Relations, wrote in an email. "It is important to note that approximately 50 per cent of the reservations our visitors make are made less than 30 days before the camping date. Visitors are encouraged to check the site often for openings."
