'I Can Only Imagine 2' to hit theatres spring 2025, Milo Ventimiglia joins cast
Great news for fans of I Can Only Imagine. Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company announced on Friday that a sequel to the breakout hit movie will be released in the new year.
I Can Only Imagine, based on Mercy Me's song of the same name, was released in 2018 and brought in over $83 million in domestic box office.
The sequel will continue the inspirational true story of Bart Millard, once again played by John Michael Finley.
Dallas Jenkins announces exciting family news
Dallas Jenkins took to social media over the weekend to announce some exciting family news.
On Sunday, Jenkins, creator and executive producer of The Chosen and director of The Best Christmas Pagent Ever shared that his oldest daughter was engaged.
"My oldest daughter Maya is engaged! My goodness," said Dallas in a post on Facebook.
Denzel Washington gets baptized, shares 'It’s my job to lift God up'
Right before his 70th birthday Hollywood actor Denzel Washington took the step of faith and got baptized.
On Saturday, Dec. 21, Washington was baptized at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ in New York City. The service was livestreamed on Facebook.
Not only did the service include Washington's baptism but he also received a minister license. This allows him to become ordained one day if he chooses.
Fairview welcomes three new doctors to the community
Three newly recruited family physicians are now practising at the local healthcare centre and in community, improving access to care for local and area residents.
The new physicians are Dr. Abdullah Elashkel, Dr. Salem Elmgadmi and Dr. Ali Abolkasim, all of whom received their medical training in Libya and began practising at the Fairview Health Complex and the Fairview Medical Clinic over the past month. They will also be supporting the local emergency department, inpatient and outpatient services, and long-term care.
Valleyview RCMP investigate fatal hit and run collision on Highway 43
On Dec. 21, 2024, at 6:30 a.m. Valleyview RCMP received a report of a deceased person on the edge of the roadway on Highway 43 between Valleyview and Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.
Upon arrival, emergency responders tended to the victim, a 34-year-old female resident of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation however, she was deceased.
The Western Alberta District General Investigations Section with support from the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Valleyview RCMP continue to investigate.
14-year-old The Voice contestant performs with for KING & COUNTRY
14-year-old Jaukeem Fortson who made his name known in households across North America as a contestant on season 26 of The Voice was part of a special performance last week.
Fortson performed "God Only Knows" alongside for King & Country at the Grand Ole Opry on Dec. 19.
The performance blew away the crowd and Joel and Luke Smallbone.
Grain Growers of Canada elects new executive
A grain farmer from Acme, Alberta has been elected as the new chair of Grain Growers of Canada (GGC).
Tara Sawyer, who is also the Chair of Alberta Grains, is the first woman to take over the role of chair for Grain Growers of Canada.
Joining her are Scott Hepworth, a grain grower from Assiniboia, Saskatchewan and a Director of the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission, as First Vice Chair and Sally Parsonage, a grain producer from Baldur, Manitoba and the Secretary of Manitoba Crop Alliance, joins the executive as Second Vice Chair.

Mayor gets calls from across Canada about 'crazy' plan to recruit doctors
A British Columbia community's "out-of-the-box" plan to ease its family doctor shortage by hiring physicians as city employees is sparking interest from across Canada, says Colwood Mayor Doug Kobayashi.
The mayor said the community has hired its first family doctor for a city-operated medical clinic, and the Victoria-area city is looking to hire seven more under the first-in-Canada pilot project.
The family doctors will be paid as community employees, receiving full medical benefits, vacation and a pension, he said.
