Singer and songwriter Katy Nichole has released a new single.

The song, 'My God Can,' features 5x Grammy-winner Naomi Raine and is based on Philippians 4:13.

"I want to remind you that even when you don't feel strong, God is strong. His strength never fails," said Katy in a post on Instagram. "There is nothing impossible with God. He will go before you and exceed every expectation you've ever had."

CRSB updates the Certified Sustainable Beef Framework

The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef has released a comprehensive update to its Certified Sustainable Beef Framework.

A committee representing the whole beef supply chain reviewed all aspects of the Framework with input from stakeholders, subject matter experts, and public consultation.

The Assurance Protocols that guide how certification is carried out have been updated, as have the Chain of Custody Requirements, on how cattle and beef are tracked through the supply chain.

Two free public skates from Design Works Centre and KMSC Law

The City of Grande Prairie and KMSC Law have partnered to bring residents two public free skates at Design Works Centre; January 28 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and March 3 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The skates promote the Design Works Centre as one of the main venues for the 2024 Alberta Winter Games and encourage community involvement through volunteerism opportunities at the Games. There are various opportunities from before to after the games for residents to get involved and volunteer.

16-year-old Grande Prairie youth arrested for assault aboard AC flight

On January 3, 2024, at approximately 12:20 pm, Winnipeg Richardson International Airport RCMP received a report of a flight diversion to Winnipeg due to an unruly passenger on board who had assaulted a passenger.

The investigation has determined that Air Canada flight #137 was en route from Toronto to Calgary, when a 16-year-old male passenger, from Grande Prairie, assaulted an adult male passenger who was identified as a family member.

Airline employees and passengers were able to restrain the youth following the assault.

Northwestern Polytechnic’s Board of Governors Chairperson appointed for a three-year term

Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to announce that Shawna Miller has been reappointed as Chair of the Board of Governors for an additional three-year term, ending in December 2026.

NWP’s Board of Governors welcomed Shawna to the role of Chairperson earlier this spring, following the departure of Bridget Hennigar who served on the Board for six years. 

Federal Agriculture Minister is optimistic about the ag sector heading into 2024

Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay says the environment remains a top priority for the government in 2024.

He says it was also a key priority and challenge for 2023 as the weather and environment impacted the agriculture sector right across the country from the wildfires to drought and the viciousness of storms like Hurricane Fiona.
