Experience Grande Prairie block party and concert returns August 30
The City’s annual free outdoor concert and block party, Experience Grande Prairie, returns to the City Centre on Friday, August 30 for its third year.
The event highlights Grande Prairie as a fun, youthful and vibrant community, featuring live music, food trucks and community booths. The event also features a cultural area, facilitated by the Grande Prairie Multicultural Association (GPIA), who will be on-site with vendors.
Road closure in the County of Grande Prairie tomorrow
CN will be working on the railroad crossing on RGE RD 64 at the intersection of TWP RD 712A in the County of Grande Prairie.
The road will be closed on Friday, August 9th from 6:00am to 8:00pm.
The road will be closed to all traffic, and motorists will need to use an alternate route.

Grande Prairie begins road rehabilitation on 92 Street
Starting today, the City of Grande Prairie begins a comprehensive road rehabilitation on 92 Street between 74 Avenue and Woody Channel (south of 84 Avenue).
The project aims to accommodate both current and future traffic needs, fostering economic growth and enhancing the overall quality and longevity of our roads.
Scope of the Project:
Beaverlodge RCMP charge four youth in school vandalism
As a result of the communities assistance Beaverlodge RCMP have charged four youth, ranging from 12 to 15 years of age, with the following offences:
- Mischief – damage to property over $5000
- Mischief – damage to property under $5000
- Mischief – obstruct enjoyment to property
All four youth were released with conditions and are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on September 25, 2024.
Regional TESA nominees announced by CCA
The Canadian Cattle Association has laid out its nominees for The Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) with farming operations across Canada being nominated.
Carol Reynolds, the CCA's communications manager, talked about how they've been supporting those farmers with the awards.

Think it over
Why should we be willing to drop everything and follow Jesus Christ? And what happens when we do? I can think of at least six reasons.
1. Jesus chooses not to minister to others all alone
He could, but he deliberately chooses not to. He could have rowed that boat Himself. He could have dropped those nets over the side Himself. He certainly could have pulled up the nets choked with fish. Instead, He had the disciples do it. And He specifically stated, "From now on you will be catching men."
