Multiple fires in the Peace River Forest area listed as Out of Control

There are currently three fires classified as OUT OF CONTROL and four classified as BEING HELD in the Peace River Forest Area.

A wildfire burning 17 km southwest of Keg River is classified as Out of Control.

Air tankers, firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment operators continue their fire suppression efforts to contain and control this wildfire. The cause is lightning.

50,000 people fill the stands at Angel Stadium, 5,000 profess faith at Harvest Crusade

Thousands of people filled the seats at Angel Stadium Sunday to participate in the Harvest Crusade. 

There were so many people at the event, that the fire marshal forced the group to close the doors. 

"Despite this, people outside stayed and joined the worship," said Harvest Church Pastor, Greg Laurie.

 Laurie says the real focus of the crusade was proclaiming the gospel.

"When the invitation was given, 5,000 people made a profession of faith," said Laurie. "3,500 did it in person, walking down to the field. Another 1,500 prayed that prayer online."

Joy in Newfoundland after ‘Lucky 7′ fishers survive harrowing days lost at sea

There was a powerful word being repeated in the joyful Newfoundland community of New-Wes-Valley on Sunday: "Miracle."

Over and over, residents out walking or chatting to one another in local stores described the rescue of seven fishermen from the area who had somehow survived two days in a life-raft on the Atlantic ocean as nothing short of miraculous.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for returning our men," Betty Lou Pollett told a crowd of hundreds at the end of a community parade held to celebrate the fishers' return.

Fire crews respond to two fires in the County of Grande Prairie

County Regional Fire Service is responding to two wildfires. Yesterday, some hot spots were detected from Saturday's fire located south of Range Road 51 on the north bank of the Wapiti River. At approximately 8:00 p.m. last night, a new fire was discovered south of Range Road 44 near the Bear River. There is currently no threat to the public.

PRAY: Love & the Outcome's father dies while couple visiting in Winnipeg

Christian singing couple Jodi King and Chris Rademaker of Love & the Outcome recently came to Winnipeg on vacation just in time to say goodbye to their dad. 

"He was admitted to cardiac ICU the day we arrived in Winnipeg and never came out," says the band on Instagram. "We didn’t get the chance to ask for prayer, it happened so quickly."

Historic Dallas Church plans to rebuild after devastating weekend fire

A church in Dallas says they will rebuild following a devastating fire Friday evening.

The historic First Baptist Church of Dallas, located in the heart of the city's downtown, went up in flames at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. 

“We are grateful that no life has been lost even though we had 2,000 children and volunteers on campus for Vacation Bible School earlier in the day," said Senior Pastor, Dr. Robert Jeffress.

Jeremy Camp teams up with Lecrae for first time

Jeremy Camp recently released a new version of his song 'Ready Now,' featuring Christian rap artist Lecrae.

"‘Ready Now’ is my declaration of surrender without reservation. It’s about being prepared to let go of all control, to break free from fears and chains. It’s a firm commitment to surrender everything," says Camp.

The new single was released on July 19, 2024. Camp's newest album, Deeper Waters, was released with the original version of the song on May 17.
