Rising from the Flames: Matt Lafait's transformative journey and new single

New Brunswick Christian artist, Matt LaFait has just released his latest single called “Out of the Flames "with One8Tea.  

Matt's journey of faith began in his childhood church. "I grew up in church, I believed," he recalls. As a teen, he led worship and formed the band "Rekoncyle," which achieved notable success. Rekoncyle released two albums and a worship project, performing in churches and festivals across the Maritime provinces and even at Soulfest in New Hampshire, USA. They earned accolades like the MGMA "Band of the Year" and an ECMA nomination.

Registration closes on Sunday, June 30 for the Eastlink Centre Triathlon, taking place on Sunday, July 7.

New music this week

Several artists are kicking off summer with new music. 

Five-time Grammy-award winner, Brandon Lake is celebrating his birthday with the release of Tear Off The Roof (Live From The Holy City).

The album features collaborations with Jon Foreman from Switchfoot, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Cody Carnes. The record includes the songs, 'Praise You Anywhere,' 'Graves Into Gardens,' and 'Gratitude' among others. 

Stolen truck bust yields major drug and weapons haul in MD of Smoky River

On June 18, 2024, McLennan RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the MD of Smoky River. Officers attended and located a pickup truck stuck in a farmer’s field. Two individuals were located on scene and the truck was discovered to be stolen. Both individuals were arrested.

A search of the truck incidental to arrest resulted in the following seizure:

'It's finally here': CAIN writes fun message filled children's book

Popular Christian band CAIN has set out on a new adventure. 

The brother-sister trio announced Wednesday that they wrote a children's book called I'm So Blessed.

"We’ve been working on this for SO LONG, and it’s finally here!!" said the band in an Instagram post. "We can’t wait for y’all to see the cool 70’s vibey fruit, and all the sneaky little CAIN Easter eggs throughout."

2024 inductees selected for Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame

Four agricultural champions from across Canada have been selected by the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame as its 2024 inductees. Dr. Bruce Coulman, Dr. Michael Eskin, Paul Larmer and Dr. Charles Vincent will be formally inducted on November 2 at a ceremony during the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario.

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.
