Oakbank RCMP responds to serious collision near Deacon’s corner
On August 17, 2025, at 9:38 pm, Oakbank RCMP received a report of a serious collision on Provincial Road 207, near Highway 1, at Deacon’s corner in the Rural Municipality of Springfield.
Officers attended immediately and observed a 4-door sedan on the southbound shoulder, facing south, with extensive front-end damage. A semi truck, with no trailer attached, was parked ahead and had a warped frame.

Missing 19-year-old found deceased following collision: RCMP
A young man at the centre of a desperate search has been located deceased according to RCMP.
Kristopher Sandy, 19, was last seen Feb. 20 around 10 p.m. leaving his home to go for a drive in the R.M. of St. Clements.
Sandy's vehicle was found upside down in a ditch off Highway 12 just before 7 a.m. on Friday. However, when emergency crews arrived on the scene, no one was in the vehicle.

The Winnipeg Airport made a post on X late Sunday afternoon encouraging people to check on their flights.
"The airport is experiencing schedule disruptions due to an incident at Toronto Pearson," said YWG airport in the post. "Please double-check the status of your flight, stay home if your flight is cancelled, and contact your airline for status of a delayed or cancelled flight."
