Police-involved collision leaves teen seriously injured
A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a police vehicle responding to a firearms-related call on the Kawacatoose First Nation Tuesday night.
According to Saskatchewan RCMP, the incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. on April 8 as a Punnichy RCMP officer was en route to the call, travelling along Kandahar grid road.

Man from Coleville area receives additional time on house arrest for breaching sentence conditions
Henry Kleinsasser has been found guilty of breaching the conditions of his conditional sentence order, originally imposed on Oct. 1, 2024.
Kleinsasser was sentenced to six months of house arrest, followed by 12 months under a curfew from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., after being convicted in September 2023 of impaired operation of a vehicle causing death and bodily harm, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and bodily harm.

Saskatchewan kicked off its 2025 storm season with a bang Tuesday evening, as Environment Canada issued the province’s first severe thunderstorm warning of the year for parts of the West Central region.
The alert, issued at 5:49 p.m. CST, warned of a thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-sized hail and wind gusts exceeding 90 km/h. At 5:45 p.m., Doppler radar showed the storm cell located about 5 kilometres west of Eston, moving east at 30 km/h.
