The Liberals are about to choose the next prime minister. What happens next?

The Liberals will choose a new leader Sunday, marking the end of Justin Trudeau's decade as prime minister.

He will step down officially in the days to come. On Tuesday, Trudeau said he will have a conversation with the incoming leader to determine exactly when that will happen.

"It should happen reasonably quickly, but there's a lot of things to do in a transition like this, particularly in this complicated time in the world," Trudeau said.

With a chance to clinch their first-ever playoff series win, the Bears are focused on finishing strong after a hard-fought Game 3 victory.

What's next for the $43.5 billion dollar Canola industry with 25% tariffs implemented

With U.S. President Donald Trump implementing 25% widespread tariffs on Canadian products this last Tuesday, Canadian agriculture and the canola industry is preparing for the repercussions and weighing their options ahead of the 2025 growing year. The focus now shifts to not only restoring trade relations between Canada and the U.S. but also looking at ways to improve the industry both internationally and domestically.

SHA urges precautions as overdose risk increases

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) are alerting Estevan residents to a heightened risk of overdose and death from illicit drugs, following an increase in overdoses in Saskatoon. The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to 37 overdoses between March 5 and 6, suggesting the circulation of an unusually potent and potentially lethal substance.

Yorkton man arrested after drugs, weapons found in traffic stop near Carlyle

A 26-year-old Yorkton man faces multiple charges after being arrested on March 6 following a traffic stop on Highway 9 near Carlyle. The arrest followed a series of dangerous and erratic actions, which led to the discovery of drugs, weapons, and trafficking paraphernalia.

On March 6, at around 4:30 p.m., a Saskatchewan RCMP officer with Weyburn Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) was conducting proactive patrols on Highway 9 near Carlyle.

A howling good time: Midale Central School stages Little Red and the Riding Hoods last night

Midale Central School took the stage last night for their performance of Little Red and the Riding Hoods last night.

Tammy Mercer, a Grade 4/5 teacher at the school, described the play as a comical take on the traditional tale of Little Red Riding Hood.

“It involves two rival biker gangs and a narrator and a stagehand who are at odds on how and who should play roles in the play,” Mercer said.

WW1 dogfighting exhibit a great resource for Air Cadets and other museum visitors

The Souris Valley Museum is hosting an interactive display on early aviation with the ACE Academy Flying Experience. Loaned from the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum, the display sees visitors put in a World War 1 biplane and dogfighting using a motion camera.

Melanie Memory, the director-curator of the Souris Valley museum, talks about why she wanted to have an exhibit like this in the museum.

Southeast has a warm weekend in store for it with sun in the air

The southeast is looking at a bit of a break this weekend as temperatures are set to be well above normal for this time of year. Beginning on Saturday and ending Monday, the warm bump will see temperatures approach the double digits in what will feel like an early spring.

Some nighttime lows will also drop to zero, leading to some of the first 24-hour periods of positive temperatures in 2025.
