MyCityCare teams up with Broncos for door donation preseason promotion
Preseason hockey action will see the Swift Current Broncos taking on the Regina Pats on Wednesday night, all while supporting MyCityCare Swift Current.
Entry to the game will be in exchange for a cash donation of $5 or with a donation of a non-perishable food item. These donations will be used to construct emergency care packages.
Tom Weppler, director of MyCityCare Swift Current, describes the emergency care packages as a hamper that goes to individuals or families in need.

The Swift Current Broncos drop the puck on the WHL pre-season tonight.
The Broncos host the Regina Pats in a special rookie game at InnovationPlex.
Southwest Sheep Pasture to explore & educate
Several conservation groups have joined forces to lead a pasture tour in southwest Saskatchewan, coming up on September 13.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Southwest Sheep Pasture, Nature Saskatchewan, and Birds Canada will delve into the history of the area, land management strategies, and identify local fauna and flora from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Southwest sees minor morning outage
SaskPower has advised a number of southwest residents about a brief planned power outage scheduled for Wednesday morning.
Customers located in the Village of Robsart, rural areas south of Robsart, and to the US border will be affected.
The power outage is set to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

NEXAT Turns Heads in Moose Jaw: A Farming Machine Like No Other
A revolutionary piece of agricultural technology is making waves in the fields of southern Saskatchewan. The NEXAT, a multi-functional farming system manufactured in Germany, has arrived at Chute Farms Joint Venture at Moose Jaw.
Rhett Chute says NEXAT reached out to them earlier in the summer to see if they would be interested in trying the prototype, and they were able to reach an agreement.
Ottawa sets 100-day timeline to fix CRA call centre delays
The federal finance minister said Tuesday he wants to address service delays at the Canada Revenue Agency within 100 days, even as Ottawa plans spending cuts across the public service.
Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne set the timeline in a letter to Liberal MP Karina Gould, chair of the House of Commons finance committee, which was posted to his X account Tuesday morning.
In that letter, he said it's "increasingly apparent" the CRA is not meeting Canadians' standards.
Federal NDP launches leadership race
The federal NDP officially launched the race to find its next leader on Tuesday, leaving seven months for interested candidates to mount a campaign.
The next NDP leader will be elected at a national convention in Winnipeg in March.
In a news release, the party says there has been strong interest in the leadership contest since Aug. 20, when the application packages were made available.
Chinook School Division ready for the bell to ring
While students walked or rode the bus to school for the start of another new year today, staff from the Chinook School Division have stayed busy preparing for this day all summer.
"I think everyone's really excited," said Chinook School Division Director of Education Mark Benesh. "Teachers are ready. They were in school for four days before school getting their classes ready, getting things in a certain way. preparation level."
