Gould leaves WHL for school, Broncos lose 1st round pick
The new NCAA eligibility rules have cost the Swift Current Broncos a significant asset again.
After losing captain Clarke Caswell to the University of Denver earlier this off season, forward Rylan Gould has decided to head to school early.
The veteran had committed to play for Michigan Tech in 2026-27 so Swift Current had traded him to Everett for a 2026 1st round WHL Prospect Draft pick.
Broncos announce new coach today
It's a big day for the Swift Current Broncos.
They're holding a media conference at 1:00 PM from Elmwood Golf Club at introduce their new head coach.
Swift Current has been looking for a new bench boss since firing Taras McEwen on May 15th.

Broncos prepare for CHL Import Draft
The Swift Current Broncos look to Europe today as the Canadian Hockey League holds their annual import draft.
The draft has been expanded to three rounds this season as teams will now be able to carry three import players on their roster.
The Broncos could also potentially return forward William Morin and defenceman Marek Ročák.
Swift Current is looking to get back to drafting impact players in this draft.

A vibrantly colored Grasslands songbird is a current spotlight for Nature Saskatchewan.
Emily Putz, Habitat Stewardship Coordinator for Nature Sask provides details on the endangered Chestnut Collard Longspur.
"It is a Grasslands specialist bird and it is an endangered species so we are just trying to spotlight them and generate some interest in some sightings for them. Also, they are this year's Bird's Canada 2025 avian ambassador."

Saskatchewan is allowing low-yielding eligible crops to be used for feed
Grain and livestock producers facing drought conditions are being encouraged to work together through SCIC's double low yield appraisal process.
Under the program, low-yielding eligible crops can be used for grazing, baling, or silage.
Saskatchewan Cattle Association Chair Chad Ross says many cattle producers throughout the province are facing potential feed shortages.
