City employees 'pull together' to raise funds for Winnipeg charities

City employees came together for a special event this week to raise funds for Winnipeg charities.

Split into various teams, the employees, which included firefighters, paramedics and police officers, lined the street during lunch, pulling a fire engine in a race to see who could cross the finish line first.

Every year, Winnipeggers turn to charitable organizations for a helping hand, and the city says its employees can give back to the community they serve through the City of Winnipeg Charitable Fund.

Normally, moose are not aggressive, but a stressed animal, a bull in rut or a cow protecting a calf can attack. Rutting season runs from late September to late October, which means moose are often more active.
