Trudeau headed home from London after visiting King Charles, Europe security summit
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is headed back to Ottawa after ending his London visit with an audience with King Charles.
Trudeau was in London for a weekend security summit — making Canada the only non-European nation represented in talks on how to ensure a possible Ukraine ceasefire actually holds.
Analysts say Trudeau's visit was meant to maintain Canada's role in the transatlantic alliance as U.S. President Donald Trump pulls back from NATO and blames Ukraine for Russia's invasion.

Nurses, midwives can help treat depression during pregnancy and new motherhood: study
A new study says nurses, midwives and doulas can treat depression and anxiety symptoms experienced during pregnancy and after delivery.
The clinical trial, published today in the journal Nature Medicine, suggests training non-mental health specialists in short-term behavioural therapy can make treatment available for people who don't have a psychologist or psychiatrist.
Lead author Dr. Daisy Singla from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health says depression and anxiety symptoms affect one in five women who are pregnant or postpartum in Canada and the U.S.
Canada waiting to see if Trump starts North American trade war with steep tariffs
Canada is bracing to see whether U.S. President Donald Trump follows through on his threats of economy-wide tariffs — or whether another last-minute pause materializes, averting a North American trade war.
Trump's executive order to implement 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian products, with a lower 10 per cent levy on energy, was delayed until Tuesday after Canada agreed to introduce new security measures at the border.

Trudeau staunchly defends Zelenskyy as London summit on European security wraps up
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau clearly signalled his view Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot be trusted to keep his word on any agreement to end his attack on Ukraine.
Trudeau expressed unwavering support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy following the Ukrainian president's explosive meeting Friday with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
Canada, other countries struggling to come up with new rules for AI and copyright
The battle between AI companies and copyright holders notched an early win for publishers in the U.S. in mid-February when a court ruled that a legal research firm didn't have the right to use a rival's content.
But even as the number of legal cases grows, a definite answer to the question of whether artificial intelligence companies can use copyrighted content to train their AI products is still a long way off.
Canadian Ukrainian community 'shocked' and 'angry' at Zelenskyy's treatment
Leaders from Canadian Ukrainian organizations say they are shocked by Friday's clash between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and they are warning this heated exchange should serve as a wake-up call for Canada.
Trump berated Zelenskyy for being “disrespectful” in an Oval Office meeting, then abruptly called off the signing of a minerals deal that Trump said would have moved Ukraine closer to ending its war with Russia.
East Wheatland Athletic Association to host first-ever awards banquet
Players from the East Wheatland Athletic Association will be recognized for their sportsmanship through an awards banquet taking place later this year.
The event will run on April 4 at Standard Hall with cocktails starting at 5 p.m. before a pizza supper an hour later.
"It was a great idea by the board to put this together to celebrate all the hockey players," said Drew Gregory, a local musician and volunteer with the banquet. "When you're in small little towns there's not much to do, so it's great when everybody comes out to the arenas for these things."
