UPDATE: Sr. Klippers defeat Macklin 8-2 in season opener
The Kindersley Sr. Klippers fire up their season this evening against the Macklin Mohawks. The Mohawks have been a thorn in the Sr. Klippers side, knocking them out of the playoffs the last two years. Sr. Klippers player Byron Ismond expects a tough test with the Mohawks in town.
Elrose Terry Fox Walk will have you shaving your legs
The Elrose Composite School managed to have some fun, as students made some special bets with some of faculty and students if they raised a certain amount of money for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Halaena Sarmiento one of the leaders of the Student Leadership Council, explains how much money the school brought in.
“We set up a goal which was $4,000 and we were actually kind of surprised by the total, as we had $4,232.”
One of the bets included shaving/waxing Mr. Wright and Mr. Kingwell's legs, which happened on Thursday.
Elm tree pruning ban lifted yesterday
The annual ban on pruning elm trees in the province has come to an end and residents are encouraged to prune their elm trees.
Each year, provincial regulations prohibit pruning elm trees from April 1 to Aug. 31 to reduce the risk of spreading Dutch Elm Disease (DED).
The elm bark beetles that spread the disease are most active during this period, and fresh cuts from pruning can attract insects to healthy elm trees.
Dodsland bank robber pleads guilty in Kindersley court
On June 7th of 2021 Kindersley RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Dodsland Credit Union. The Kindersley RCMP, in partnership with the Saskatoon General Investigation Section, entered into an extensive investigation and ended up locating and charging a suspect.
West Central senior baseball playoff update
2ND UPDATE:
The Macklin Lakers NSRBL season is over after a lopsided 11-1 loss to the Standard Hill Lakers last night on the road. Macklin can now focus on Senior AA Tier 3 Provincials, which they are set to host from August 5-7. Standard Hill will play Wilkie in the NSRBL final series. Both the Brewers and the Standard Hill Lakers will be in Kindersley for Senior AA Tier 2 Provincials also from August 5-7, along with the North Battleford Beavers, Cabri River Rats and host Kindersley Stallions.

Saskatoon Police Service searching for missing mother and son
The Saskatoon Police Service issued an update Monday saying they're continuing to search for a mother and son that were reported missing Sunday evening.
48-year-old Dawn Walker and seven-year-old Vincent Jansen were reported missing when friends were unable to contact them.
Booking COVID-19 vaccination for children six months to five years starts today
The Saskatchewan government announced vaccination starts today in the province for children age six months up to five years.
The province says it will receive a limited supply of approximately 13,000 doses of the vaccine in its first delivery, so the appointments will open first to those children at highest risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes. Priority is being given to children age six months up to five years who are moderately to severely immunocompromised, with appointment booking available starting today.
