Livestock farms often need to use their land carefully in order to get the best results for their animals, which is why the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment is sharing some tips on good grazing practices. Work planned Monday afternoon for downtown intersection
Motorists travelling through downtown Weyburn should be prepared for possible delays Monday afternoon, as City crews are conducting maintenance at a key intersection.
Lane restrictions are in effect at the corner of 4th Street and Coteau Avenue. The City of Weyburn has crews that will be conducting manhole repairs.
As a result of the work, drivers are being asked to use extra caution and watch for crews present on the road.
Torrential rain, hail batter communities across southeast
An intense thunderstorm system caused significant rainfall, damaging winds, and hail to pelt communities across southeast Saskatchewan. Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, Crawford Luke, says they heard reports of tennis-ball-sized hail near Torquay, with accumulations of smaller-sized hail in Midale.
“Low pressure was sitting over the southern part of the province, and a bunch of showers were circulating it, and then in that low southeast of the province, we had this complex of thunderstorms fire up right on the international border."
Appeal Court says challenge of Saskatchewan pronoun law can continue
The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal has ruled a challenge of the province's school pronoun law can continue.
In the decision released Monday, the court granted, in part, the government's appeal of a decision that allowed the challenge.
But the court says a judge has jurisdiction to determine whether the law limits Charter rights.
"(LGBTQ+ group) UR Pride’s litigation may continue in the Court of King’s Bench," the ruling says.
Dr. Mainprize Foundation to host 2nd annual $1M Par 3 Golf Tournament
The Dr. Mainprize Park Foundation will host the Million Dollar Par Three Golf Tournament on September 13th at Mainprize Regional Park..
President Brandon Rosengren said last year's event was a huge success.
"We had about 300 people turn out for that, and we raised, I think, $47,000. So we're hoping to beat that this year, and we want to have around 350 to 400 people attend."
