Woman found after missing for almost three months

Police have found a missing woman.

Roslyn Gambler, 28, went missing on New Year's Day from Calling Lake. A report to the police was made on Mar.1, followed by a missing person's release.

RCMP believed Gambler was in the area around Edmonton.

On Tuesday morning (Mar.22), police confirmed she had been found safe.

No further details have been released.

Agriculture Industry continues to warn about high cost for CP Rail work stoppage

The Canadian Oilseed Processors Association is calling on the Federal Government to take early action in bringing the CP Rail work stoppage to an end.

The group saying the ongoing situation will have a detrimental effect on their industry.

Executive Director Chris Vervaet says the impact  will be detrimental to processors, farmers and world-wide customers.

Vervaet says COPA members will be forced to curb production, and will experience delays in meeting customer contracts.

Morinville's Brandon Hagel traded to Tampa Bay

Brandon Hagel has been traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Lightning made the trade with the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Hagel and fourth-round picks in 2022 and 2024. The Blackhawks will receive a first-round pick in 2023 and 2024, plus prospects Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk.

Hagel has scored 61 points in 108 games over three seasons.

Workers back on the job at noon after CP Rail and union agree to final arbitration

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. and the union representing 3,000 conductors, engineers and train and yard workers say they have agreed to final and binding arbitration to end a work stoppage.

Workers will return to the job at noon local time Tuesday.

In a statement issued early Tuesday morning, Teamsters Canada Rail Conference spokesperson Dave Fulton said while arbitration was not the preferred method, TCRC was able to negotiate terms and conditions that were in the best interest of its members, with wages and pensions still stumbling blocks.

Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame accepting applications for Class of 2022

Nominations are still being accepted for the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame Association (CAHFA).

May 1 is the deadline for submissions to be considered for 2022 inductees.

CAHFA recognizes Canadians who have made notable, lifelong contributions to the agriculture and food industry.

Inductees are chosen based on their career and volunteer contributions to the industry, as well as their leadership and vision that have made a difference to agriculture in Canada and even internationally.

Liberals, NDP reach tentative deal to keep government in power until 2025: reports

The Liberals and New Democrats have reached a tentative deal to keep the Liberal minority government in power through to 2025, media reports say.

The CBC is reporting the leadership of both parties reached an agreement that would see the NDP support the Liberals on confidence votes.

The report says the deal would see the Liberals acting on national pharmacare and dental care, which are key priorities for the NDP.

Reports by the CBC and the Globe and Mail, citing unnamed sources, say that New Democrat members of Parliament still need to approve the deal.

2022 World Juniors returning to Edmonton in August

The 2022 World Juniors has been rescheduled for August at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

The World Junior Ice Hockey Championship is a yearly tournament that gathers the top junior hockey players from around the world as they represent their countries in an international event. 

The last event started in December 2021 before it was suddenly cancelled due to COVID-19. Since the cancellation, Russia was also expelled from competing after the invasion of Ukraine.
