Michael Bernard Beck was born in Swaffham, Norfolk, England on October 29, 1938, welcomed by his beloved parents, Harry Nelson Beck and Primrose Deborah (Shaul) Beck, along with his sisters, Betty and Leila, and his brother, Barry. Fondly called “Mick” by his British friends and family, Mike enjoyed a childhood full of adventures and hard work. He built model airplanes and little boats with his brother as the outlines of their engineering passions took shape.

Valerie was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on April 22, 1963, to James and Eileen Hawk. She grew up alongside her siblings Gerold, Colleen, Evert, Robin, and Kevin and Douglas who passed away.

Ted was born in Moose Jaw in 1939 and was raised on the farm south of Moose Jaw in the Baildon RM. As a young man he took up carpentry working for Lee Wedhorn. He earned his Journeyman ticket in carpentry from STI.

Alexander (Alex) was born to Claira and John Daniel on February 22, 1962, in Calgary, Alberta. He was a jack of all trades, a locksmith, an appliance technician, and an entrepreneur. Alex was always looking for the next big project.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kyra Colleen Meyer. Kyra passed away on January 8, 2024, after a 5-year battle with mental illness. She joins her big brother, James Mikisew Meyer, who we know will be waiting for her with open arms.
Kyra was the official New Year’s baby born in Wolseley, Saskatchewan on March 22, 2002.

Jessica Gordon of Moose Jaw passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 34.
Jessica touched so many people’s lives in her short life, she was a caring and loving mother for her family.
She is predeceased by her husband Benjamen Plant and baby Jacob. Jessica is survived by her four children; Keegan, Caitlyn, Courtney, and Johnathan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at W. J. Jones Reception Lounge on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. Della Ferguson will be officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Bernice Shirley Elizabeth Lauer passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023, at the age of 83. She was predeceased by Conrad Lauer, her husband of 60 years; her parents, August, and Betty (nee Hogilie) Lapointe, and brother Fredrick Lapointe.
Beginning her career at Peacock, Bernice worked as an administrative assistant for the Moose Jaw Public School Board, then later was promoted to the Board’s administrative office. Friends will also remember Bernice working at Kalium and CFB Moose Jaw.
