The Saskatchewan Roughriders hit the road to face Hamilton this weekend, aiming to build on their 1-0 start after a strong 31-26 win over Ottawa in their season opener.

A pair of Southeast Saskatchewan drivers have taken home championship titles following wins during the Tougher Than Dirt Tour over six nights of racing. The tour takes place on five different American tracks and another race here at the Estevan Motor Speedway.

This year's winners are Leevi Runge and Diezel Raynard, both of whom hail from Lampman. The two winning the title make it the first time in the tour's 10-year history that both winners hail from Saskatchewan.

The Okotoks Dawgs are in for a busy weekend, with three games on tap.

They’ll kick things off Friday, June 13, at 7:05 p.m. with a grudge match against the Mavericks in Medicine Hat.

The two teams last met in the Dawgs’ season opener on May 28, where Okotoks lost 12–11.

The Dawgs return home Saturday and Sunday to host the Energy City Cactus Rats.

The 13U AA league tournament will be taking place on Saturday (June 15) and Sunday at the Hillview ball diamonds.

On the other side of town, the 18U AA tournament takes place on the same days at the Kinsmen Park ball diamond.

It was a case of good news and bad news regarding the Saskatchewan Roughriders injury situation following Week 1 of the 2025 Canadian Football League (CFL) season. 

The Roughriders (1-0) head to Hamilton (0-1) for a matchup against the Tiger-Cats on Saturday.  

After a 31-26 win over Ottawa in the CFL season opener last Thursday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be looking to improve their record to 2-0 when they visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday.

The Roughriders offense exploded in the middle quarters of their season opener, scoring all 31 points between the second and third frames to build a strong lead over Ottawa. Despite a late push from the Redblacks, Saskatchewan's defense held strong with key sakcs to close out the four-point win.
