The sport of pickleball has become a sensation for all ages, and the President of Pickleball Manitoba, Ted Fardoe, couldn't be happier with where they are, or more excited for where the sport is going. 

The Steinbach Pistons continue to bolster their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, adding former 1st overall MJHL draft pick Marek Miller.

"Couldn't be more excited," the La Salle, Manitoba product says with a big smile. "I've heard nothing but good things about Steinbach, as a community, the new rink, the staff with Paul (Dyck) there, I'm just so excited."

It wasn't love at first play, but eventually Winkler's Linda Hiebert did fall for the sport of pickleball, and as she's dominated on the court, she's earned the opportunity to compete at upcoming nationals.

On Tuesday, Marcia Friesen and Paulette Connery from Portage Golf Club captured the Ladies Net Division Four Ball title at the River Oaks Invitational tournament hosted by Golf Manitoba.

The two-person team event in Winnipeg invites clubs across Manitoba to send duos to compete in a four-ball format, where each player plays their own ball and the best score on each hole counts toward the team’s score.

The Okotoks Dawgs are one win away from advancing to the WCBL West Division final after an 11-4 victory over the Brooks Bombers tonight in Game 1 of their semifinal series.

The defending champions came out swinging, building a 6-0 lead before Brooks got on the board with three runs in the fifth. But the Dawgs held firm, tacking on more runs and keeping their title defence on course.

Winners of the last three Western Canadian Baseball League championships, Okotoks remains the team to beat.

The Western Canadian Baseball League’s 2025 regular season has wrapped, and the Okotoks Dawgs are once again entering the playoffs as the team to beat in tonight's opening game of the semifinals.

The Dawgs posted their fourth straight 40-win season to finish atop the West Division and secure home-field advantage through at least the first two rounds. They’ll be joined in the West by the Sylvan Lake Gulls, Lethbridge Bulls, and Brooks Bombers.

The Saskatoon Senior Baseball League (SSBL) announced the league leaders for the 2025 regular season, with the Marysburg Royals well represented.  

It was a clean Royals sweep for the leaders in batting average, with Cole Bauml finishing on top with .516 average, followed by Nick Anderson at .500 and Tom Hooker with a .478 average.  

Hockey fans will soon be able to purchase tickets for the Winnipeg Jets' 2025-26 season, when tickets go on sale on Thursday.

The Winnipeg Jets will get a rematch of the 2025 playoffs to kick off the regular season when the Dallas Stars come to Canada Life Centre on Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m.

The 13U AAA Estevan Brewers grasped a podium finish at provincials over the weekend as they played in Saskatoon.

The team placed 3rd out of 16 teams from across the province at Tier 1 Provincials, settling at a 3-1 record.

The Oyen Orioles U11 baseball team just fell short of a championship at this past weekend's Baseball Alberta Division 1 Tier 3 provincial tournament, putting an end to provincial play across the border for the summer, and capping off what was a strong year for O's ball.
