Moose Jaw's Little League All Stars go gunning for their first win today at the Canadian Championships in Victoria. They'll play Team Alberta at 11:30 local time.
Alberta is coming of a 7-2 victory over Quebec yesterday, improving to 2 and 1.
The Moose Jaw Miller Express outscored Weyburn Beavers 11-8 at Ross Wells Park last night. Austin Gurney, Eduardo Saenz and Tanner DeGrazia hit home runs for the winners. The Millers will play host to the Swift Current 57's tonight.
Unity taking on Marysburg to start Tier 1 provincials in Saskatoon
Seven of the provinces top senior baseball teams are in Saskatoon this weekend for Baseball Sask AA Tier 1 provincials.
Coming off hosting and winning Tier 2 provincials last year, the Unity Cardinals were excited to announce earlier this summer that they were once again moving up a level in competition, this time to the highest degree.
The Cardinals will face the Marysburg Royals at 10:30 AM on Friday in the tournament's first game. The Cards will get a long rest after the opener with their second game not until Saturday at 3:30 against the Regina Trappers.
From West Central to the "C of Red": Reschny reflects on whirlwind ride
Growing up around Oil Country, Macklin native and Calgary Flames 2025 first-round pick Cole Reschny may have some work to do converting his hometown into part of the "C of Red".
Reschny confirmed his allegiances back on draft night, and only time will tell if people follow suit.
Lindsey Jordan wins ninth straight Portage Ladies Open title
Lindsey Jordan continues to add to her legacy at the Portage Golf Club, capturing her ninth consecutive Portage Ladies Open championship with a score of 80. Finishing close behind, Helen Rano took second place with an 85, while Brooke Henderson rounded out the top three with a score of 86.
The win brings her career total to 15 titles in the event since 2004.
Jordan says the feeling of winning never gets old, especially with such a competitive field.

Alberta falls short in U19 women’s baseball championship opener
Alberta dropped a nail-biter to Manitoba in its opening game at the U19 Women’s National Baseball Championship on Thursday.
The high-scoring affair saw Manitoba come out on top 16–15 in a back-and-forth contest that went down to the wire.
Team Alberta will look to bounce back this afternoon when they take on Newfoundland and Labrador.
Among those competing for Alberta is Cochrane’s Maeve Maguire, who plays infield.
The national championship brings together top U19 women’s baseball talent from across the country.
Star athlete Kaedyn Leslie thrilled with year, and excited for the future
Sensational athlete from Killarney, 13-year-old Kaedyn Leslie had a terrific season on the diamond, and the star pitcher is looking forward to a very bright future.
Pitching came pretty naturally to Leslie, who says she has family members to thank for getting her on the mound. "My grandpa has always been a big part of my start in ball. He was the one that got me into pitching. We pitch all the time now in his shop, even in the off season."

Not just for the boys: Portage Armwrestling Club opens arms to all
From first-timers to national-level competitors, the Portage Armwrestling Club is welcoming athletes of all ages, including entire families, to take part in one of Manitoba’s most under-the-radar sports.
Ryan Heron and his wife Ellen travel from Winnipeg to attend practices in Portage la Prairie. Ryan says what started as curiosity quickly became a passion.
2025 another strong season for all Carillon Sultans teams
Looking across the landscape that is the Carillon Sultans baseball teams, and while a few still have provincials to play, Co-President Louis Cote couldn't be more thrilled with how things went for all teams.
"It was a very exciting year, once again," Cote says with a smile. "Starting with community baseball, we have lot of kids involved again. Again, lots of quality coaches in community ball, which brought great experiences for kids across our region. It's nice to see the numbers climbing, and the number of communities that have thriving baseball programs that continue to grow."
