The host Layritz All Stars shutout the local boys 16-0 yesterday. Moose Jaw will play Team Alberta tomorrow morning.

NSRBL, BRBL finals going the distance

Two highly entertaining senior baseball playoff series will have a third and final game. The Macklin Lakers won last night to stay alive in the Battle River Baseball League finals against the Veteran Bulls, while the North Battleford Beavers did the same against the Unity Cardinals to remain alive for one more game in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League championship.

Melnic goes the distance as Padres take Game 1 of SCBL final

A massive seven-run second inning and a complete game from Chad Melnic lifted the Padres to a 13-5 victory over the Plumas Pirates Wednesday night at Republic of Manitobah Park, kicking off the best-of-five Santa Clara Baseball League Final in commanding fashion.

Portage Phillies crowned 15U AA Manitoba champions

The Portage Phillies U15 AA baseball team captured the Manitoba Provincial Championship this past weekend, capping off an undefeated tournament run with a thrilling 5-4 victory over the South Central Cubs at Simplot Millennium Park's field 4.

The Phillies dominated pool play and powered through the playoffs to claim the title on Sunday evening.

Head Coach Rob Olson reflected on the team's perfect performance throughout the weekend in Brandon.

AA U15 South Central Cubs impress at provincials, bring home silver

It was a strong weekend for the U15 AA South Central Cubs, culminating in the group earning a silver medal at provincials, a great reward for a hard working, close group.

"Pitching and defense wins," coach Phil Coggan says with a matter of fact tone combined with a sly smile. "Preached that all year. We got some amazing pitching performances from all our players."
