Municipal Election 2022

The Municipal election is set for Monday, October 24, 2022 and registered voters in the region will receive an information letter from the City of Kenora with instructions for voting by internet or phone.

The letter will include a PIN number and the voting period is Tuesday, October 11 at 10:00am to Monday October 24 at 8:00pm.

You can cast your vote by internet or by phone with your PIN number via https://elections.kenoravotes.ca.

A wide range of Kenora’s community members came out to Seven Generations Wednesday night to hear a variety of solutions being presented by the upcoming batch of city councillors – the first of Kenora’s three All Candidate Debates ahead of the municipal election.

The major message behind this year’s election was strewn throughout each candidate’s presentation – Kenora wants to see change at City Hall.

The Niverville Chamber of Commerce is hosting an all-candidates forum Wednesday, October 5 in the Fieldhouse of the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre.

The Forum will give Niverville residents an opportunity to hear from each of the 7 Council Candidates through questions the residents have submitted as well as questions the Chamber has regarding the growth of the town and their thoughts on bringing in more business.

It's election time and there are campaign signs all over the city of Portage la Prairie. Unfortunately, some signs have been posted that are attacking current councillor Ryan Espey.

Espey is running again and says he had mixed feelings when he first heard about these signs.

Altona Mayor Al Friesen joined CFAM Radio 950 Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner in studio one final time Wednesday morning for In the Mayor's Chair. Friesen announced earlier this year he would not be seeking re-election in the upcoming municipal election October 26th.

The conversation is full of reflections, "Thank You's" and began with a question from a book written by Ian McCormick, "Is the town in a better place than four years ago?"

Dave Carlson says he had a mixed reaction to hearing he'd been acclaimed to a second term as Reeve for the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin. Carlson was declared Reeve after no other candidates stepped forward during the nomination process for the October 26th municipal elections.

Candidates in the upcoming municipal election will get their chance to share their thoughts and ideas on a number of issues in Kenora next week. 

Kenora Moving Forward (KFM) will be hosting an all-candidates forum, where those seeking election will discuss their approach and commitment to creating safe spaces in Kenora if elected. 

Scott Crick says he has mixed feelings about being acclaimed to a second term as Mayor for the Town of Morris. Crick won the position after no other candidates stepped forward to run in the October 26th municipal election. 

Steinbach resident and dad of three, Brett Siemens says his reason for adding his name to the candidates for Hanover School Division Trustee for Ward 3 was simple. “I wanted to have a voice in my kids’ education. If I waited another four years, my oldest would be out of school. So, that was really the biggest thing for me. I wanted to be a part of my kids’ future.”  

Mayoral candidate Rick Shone is hoping to bring a new voice and a new vision to Winnipeg's future if elected.

"It wasn't an easy decision and I started thinking about it back in 2018," says Shone, one of the mayoral candidates. "I thought, we could use some people to come to the table and present some really solid ideas and to challenge some people who've been in politics and our leadership."
