Okotoks Town Council has recently approved the Active Transportation Implementation Plan (ATIP), which will help to guide the future planning and development of cycling, walking, and rolling infrastructure in town.
Canada Post puts forward ‘final offers’ to union as overtime ban continues
Canada Post on Wednesday laid out its "final offers" to the union representing 55,000 workers after negotiations resumed Wednesday morning, as tensions run high over the future of the beleaguered institution.
Included in the proposal are an end to compulsory overtime, a signing bonus of $1,000 for urban employees and $500 for rural and suburban ones, cost-of-living payments that are triggered at a lower inflation threshold.

The Ottawa Police have recently charged a man in relation to a human trafficking investigation, and it's believed there were victims from Calgary.
The Ottawa Police Service have charged 27-year-old Anthony Badibanga-Mukendi in relation to the ongoing human trafficking investigation, and the Ottawa Police believe there are victims across Canada, including in Calgary.
Skier dies after fall near Moraine Lake
A 34-year-old woman from Lake Louise has died after falling while skiing in the backcountry near Moraine Lake.
At 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, Parks Canada responded to a call regarding a skier who had fallen a significant distance.
Visitor safety specialists reached the woman and extracted her by long line with the assistance of Alpine Helicopters.
STARS air ambulance was dispatched, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP said they extend their condolences to her family and friends.
Heat warning issued for Foothills County and surrounding areas
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning across much of Southern Alberta, including Foothills County.
Temperatures of 29°C or higher are expected on Wednesday (May 28) and Thursday, with overnight lows near 14°C.

Alberta RCMP arrest man who commented ‘Booo’ on his own wanted post
A wanted man who commented on his own RCMP wanted post on Facebook has been arrested.
On May 20, 2025, the RCMP Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a warrant on a home in Granum, following a tip from a member of the public.
They arrested 29-year-old Camron Rasmussen of Fort Macleod, who was previously featured in the Alberta RCMP's Wanted Wednesday posts.
Rasmussen drew attention for a comment he left on the post, which read "Booo," with a ghost emoji.
