China announces anti-dumping investigation on canola seed imports
China's Ministry of Commerce has announced plans to launch an anti-dumping case into Canadian canola seed imports.
The action was initiated in response to a Canadian decision to impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, steel and aluminum.
Canadian Canola Council of Canada ((CCC) CEO and President Chris Davison says China is an important and valued market for Canadian canola.
“We are confident that an investigation into Canada’s canola trade with China will demonstrate alignment with and reinforce our support for rules-based trade.”

China has announced an anti-dumping investigation into Canadian canola imports in response to Canada planning to impose tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, steel and aluminum.
In a news release Tuesday, China's Ministry of Commerce said it is launching an anti-discrimination investigation into the tariffs and an anti-dumping probe into Canadian canola imports as well as certain chemical products.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Aug. 26 that Canada will impose a 100 per cent tariff on Chinese EVs and a 25 per cent tariff on steel and aluminum.
Drones used to rescue dog walker stuck on steep embankment
Diamond Valley Fire Rescue (DVFR) were busy this past weekend.
On Friday, August 30th, they responded to a call about a structure fire in Eden Valley and a CO alarm call.
Then, on August 31st, the DVFR received multiple calls for help, with one of them being a technical rescue.
"At about 6:15 on August 31st, a lady was out walking her dog in Turner Valley and her dog kind of led her down a pathway that took her near the river down a steep embankment," explained Diamond Valley Fire Chief T.J. Moore.

The attack happened on opening day of hunting season on Sunday, September 1.

High River's Jason Glass has won it all.
He not only took the Aggregate title on Sunday night after four nights of racing, but he also pulled off the big Championship win on Monday afternoon.
Glass was in the final Championship heat up against Jamie Laboucane, Chad Fike and Chanse Vigen with Glass setting a track record of 1:12.14 with the win.
While Chanse Vigen took the World Championship title with points it was Glass that brought home the $50,000 paycheque.

Kindred Roots Therapy in Okotoks will be hosting the first ever silent disco in the Okotoks area and is an all-ages dance party with a live DJ and two other music channels for people to listen to.
Silent discos are events where people wear wireless headphones to listen to music, but unlike a traditional discotheque where everyone listens to the same pre-recorded music at the same volume, silent discos allow attendees to enjoy the music they want to hear and at the volume they want.

STARS Air Ambulance is urging safer use of drones and alerts from members of the public.
An increase in the usage of these technologies prompted the reminder, as both can interfere with the safety of pilots and patients.
The service was first launched in 1985, and currently operates out of bases in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg.

Daggett Street in Okotoks is looking a bit different
Daggett Street in Okotoks has recently had some work completed.
This Improved Parking Project began on July 16th and included paving a parking area, installing fences, Electronic Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and landscaping.
With this project, they installed fencing along the CPKC railway right-of-way, cleaned up town-owned property, and added parking stalls along Daggett Street.
For years, this area has been used as an informal parking spot, but the Town wishes to formalize the parking area.
