Terrier season ends at the hands of Battlefords
In 2019, the Terriers ended Battlefords playoff run in the Anavet cup on their ice. Now, only four years later, the Stars got to return the favour.
The Portage Terriers’ season came to an end last night and with it, a chance for a third national championship.

Terriers end round-robin in electrifying fashion
The Portage Terriers ended the preliminary round of the Centennial Cup with a bang. The Dogs handed the Collingwood Blues their first loss of the tournament tonight, coming away with a 4-3 victory.
Portage's offence went to work early. Just over a minute into the game, on the power-play, Austin Peters carried the puck from end-to-end along the boards. As he reached the corner, he made a shot pass to his side for Ryan Botterill, who made no mistake.
Terriers unlikely hero: Rory Neill
Many Portage Terrier fans were quite surprised when they saw Rory Neill put home back-to-back goals in their opening game of the Centennial Cup.
Neill had played only one game with the Terriers this season and only five total games with the squad over the last three years. However, in just two games at the Centennial Cup tournament, the 19-year-old has three goals and three assists.
Terriers etch their names in Centennial Cup record books
It was utter dominance for the Portage Terriers tonight. The Dogs broke the Centennial Cup record for goals in a game as they demolished the Kam River Fighting Walleye 12-2.
The Terriers opened the scoring midway through the first. Bryden Kiesman deked around multiple defenders to create space at the side of the net. He circled the net and made a centring pass for Parker Scherr to tap in.

The Portage Terriers are feeling validated after defeating the MJHL Champions in their Centennial Cup opener. Portage came away with a 4-2 victory over the Steinbach Pistons tonight.
The Terriers came out of the gate with guns blazing. It took the MJHL's leading-scorer Ryan Botterill less than five minutes to get his first goal of the tournament. He got the puck just above the faceoff dot on the rush and made no mistake.

Terriers' past champions to be recognized at Centennial Cup
While the current iteration of the Terriers will be the main reason Portagers gather at Stride Place over the next two weeks, some former members of the squad will be recognized, as well.
The 1973 Centennial Cup winning team will be honoured during the first intermission of the Terriers game tomorrow night. Captain of the 1973 squad, Grant Farncombe, is excited to reunite with his old teammates.
