Saddling up for sick kids at this year's Ice Crystal Gala

The Children's Hospital Foundation is putting the fun in fundraising with their 16th annual Ice Crystal Gala.

"It is a fun, family-friendly event and the only gala like this in the city because it's really about the kids," says Sara Shyiak, Manager of Marketing and Communications with the Children's Hospital Foundation.

This year's theme is Rhinestone Rodeo. Guests are invited to dress up as a cowboy and cowgirl in glitter, so to speak.

Here’s why you should involve your child in your annual pumpkin-carving tradition

The big day for trick-or-treating, bobbing for apples, and doing the Thriller dance with six of your closest friends is nearly upon us.

Seven-year-old Weston Harder, equipped with his Minecraft creeper costume, is ready for the day of fun. He, along with his mother Leslie, got into the spirit of Halloween by creating a pumpkin family.

[MAP]: Halloween is here and so are the decorations

A whole day dedicated to the spooky and scary, it's Halloween here in Weyburn. Children put on their costumes to go to school before hitting the streets and looking for treats or causing tricks. Halloween's origins date back over 2000 years ago to ancient Celtic times when people would wear costumes and make bonfires to ward off ghosts and spirits. Now, the spirit of Halloween keeps that scary theme alive, but with a much different look as kids dress up in their favourite costumes and go door-to-door to try and get a bounty of candy.
