Poll: When do you put on your summer tires?
With the snow finally off the ground in most places and temperatures staying warm, it's time to start thinking about switching to your summer tires. According to tire industry recommendations, it's best practice to use winter tires when the average daily temperature is consistently 7°C (44.6°F) or lower, and to switch to summer or all-season tires when temperatures stay above that threshold. While this isn't a hard and fast rule—especially in a province where the weather can’t seem to make up its mind—it’s a good guideline to follow.

Carnie's Comments

It was about 35 years ago when Mac T was in Moose Jaw with a number of his Edmonton Oiler teammates to play in the Clark Gillies Celebrity Golf Classic.
He and Mark Messier asked me to give them a ride from the golf club to a downtown restaurant. Of course I obliged.
