Local Easter basket initiative helps kids see light in dark times ▶️

Each spring, Discovery Toys and their team work together with the community to create Easter baskets for kids in shelters or at the Ronald McDonald House. 

"For the last decade, we've been collecting sponsorships leading up to Easter," says Tia Sunley, a play leader with Discovery Toys in Winnipeg. "Then we create a basket for each kid staying in 10 women's shelters across the province, Ronald McDonald House Manitoba, and we've added children and families utilizing Villa Rose and Dignity House."

Former Foodgrains rep for Manitoba, Gordon Janzen, travelled with the newest addition to the Manitoba team, Dale Friesen, throughout the province visiting the many communities where they hold their annual fundraisers and grow projects.

First-time Juno nominee Boy Golden joins Made in Manitoba this weekend

We're back for another weekend on Made in Manitoba, and tonight we're featuring a first time Juno nominee, but a returning guest, as we celebrate Manitoba Juno nominees ahead of the awards.

Boy Golden and his album “For Eden” is up for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the March 30th event in Vancouver. You may know him by his off-stage name, Liam Duncan, who grew up in Brandon and played more than 600 shows with his previous musical venture The Middle Coast.

Scarlett Butler to rock Strathmore with live performance

The Strathmore Musical Arts Society is preparing to rock the town with another show next month.

Joni Delaurier and Troy Kokol from Scarlett Butler will swing into town to sing some tunes and have fun on April 26.

The pair have been married for over 20 years and decided to start a band during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We're based in Calgary, just up the road and I would say like we got our start writing country music for other people. So, you'll hear those country influences in a lot of our songwriting."
